So far, two things are clear about Rajon Rondo's season:

1) He's clearly not what he was
2) He probably won't be returning to Dallas

On top of these things, Rondo is hot-headed & has a history of clashing with players, coaches. In my opinion, he's not a top-15 PG in the league. With his contract expiring this season, what is Rondo worth on the free agent market? He's currently making $12.9 million
He's definitely top 15 if not top 10 PG in the league. He's a great playmaker/distributor type PG like Jason Kidd was but not quite Kidd level. You can have your opinion but most would agree he is.
He is NOT worth nor would I give him no damn max contract like @SuperCoolP_Cal and (I believe) @VMR were saying he was worth, tho.:russ:

A healthy Rondo is certainly top 10 and probably top 5.

I'd give him top money for a PG if he were healthy. At this point, if I'm a GM of a playoff team/contender who already has a ball-dominant player and some 3-point shooters and was in need of a PG, I'd pay Rondo between $12-$15M/year.

I can't wait until healthy Rondo comes back.

Is Rondo even a top 15 pg anymore? :lupe: @Gil Scott-Heroin

Barely if that.

Wall
Curry
Westbrook
Lawson
Paul
Conley
Dragic
Irving
Lowry
Lillard
Teague

That's 11 no doubters off the top of my head.

Lowkey Elfrid Payton has been outplaying Rondo the last month. A ROOKIE. Jaret Jack, a career reserve, has been putting up superior numbers as well. Not to mention Brandon Knight's outstanding season. Rubio has been better since his return too. That would be 15 point guards. Didn't even mention Tony Parker.....

Rondo got a lot of work to do.

You and I both know he has questionable decision-making at times which is amplified in the playoffs. He also jacks up heat-check shots and plays out of the system (to the detriment of the team).

:mjlol: You think OKC has a system

His questionable decisions aren't why OKC has lost in the playoffs. The coach/unbalanced top heavy rosters have hurt us more than anything Russy has done.

I think you mean that the other way around. You dont want Rondo with a ball-dominant player. You should want the Ball in Rondo's hands most of the time since he's not able to be a spot up shooter to help a ball-dominant player that will be handling the ball a lot and probably needs shooters around him to kick to when he drives

Look. Rondo's having a down year. No doubt about that. Other PGs have been outperforming him and he has to make up some ground to re-establish himself as top 5. Some of it is his fault but most of it's due to the fact that he's been injured multiple times this season and he was traded to the Mavs midseason.

But to say that the bolded are better players than Rondo based on this season solely is very short-sighted. Y'all obsession with strictly player averages and highlights is making y'all look delusional.

Y'all also ignore the fact that (before the trade to the Mavs) Rondo was playing with inferior surrounding talent ready for rebuilding. Put most of the PGs you listed on the Celtics at the beginning of this season and you'd see that they'd struggle to put up the stats they have now.

Y'all are reaching with your Rondo hate.

You're right. I used a bad choice of words.

I meant to say that he should be paired with a primary scorer (a la Carmelo or Marc Gasol or Demarcus Cousins).

Good list.

The only person on this list i would THINK of taking Rondo over is probably Lawson and thats because i dont see him play very often and i dont trust stats. I havent seen Tony Parker all year but I would thik he belongs on there too.

Yeah @SuperCoolP_Cal , looking at this list, unless your boy shows us something soon to remind us of what he can still do he may be falling top 15 PG list in most people's books.

The coach and unbalanced rosters are a big part of it but it seems that Russy and Durant are competing with each other for the ball. Russell doesn't defer enough to Durant. And Russell makes some horrible shooting decisions and gets too eager.

If you factor in post-season success, that list almost evaporates, save 3 or 4 players (including Parker).

Y'all are suffering from Peyton Manning syndrome. Y'all are blinded by what these guys do during the regular season but fail to recognize some of these guys' post-season deficiencies.

I think that's a generally accepted fact. He was their best player in 2010 tho & they probably would've won w/o Perkins' ACL tear
I gotta neg you off GP for this comment. I don't know why this became a popular talking point to discredit the Lakers in 2010. Besides the fact that Perkins is a bum, NOBODY talks about Bynum and Ariza being hurt for the Lakers in 2008.

This clown @SuperCoolP_Cal is gonna be top five in #WPOY2015 voting because of his absurd Rondo stanning. :camby:

As for Rondo, these are the only teams he could go to in the summer where he would be better than the PGs they currently have:

New York
maybe Philly
maybe Houston
maybe Utah

I'd take Jordan Clarkson over him right now.

you don't see a primary ballhandler who can't shoot free throws as being a major deficiency?

Those players are all better than him this year. Won't count last year since he didn't play a lot of games.

I'm not talking about past achievements. I'm saying right now at this point in time he is barely scratching the top 15 and all the guys I listed above him are outperforming him so heavily that bringing Rondo's name into the conversation almost comes off as a bad joke.

You say he has some work to do to get back into the top 5 but I'd say he has some work to do to even get back into the top 10.
