I just don't think he cares as much anymore. He's a 50 year old man with all the money in the world and a family. I suspect that has a lot to do with it. He's just not as "hungry" as he used to be, and certainly not as much as newer, younger actors. He's also not nearly as bankable. Few actors are anymore. Hell, Nicole Kidman is doing television now.

He "made it". He had a nearly two decade run at (or near) the top and is now worth hundreds of millions. He's set, his family is set. He's an actor so I'm sure he'll continue to take roles and not just fade into obscurity, but really the only thing left for someone like him to do now is maybe passion projects in the hopes of winning a late-stage Oscar or try to secure roles to get his son put on.

They are all younger than Will Smith.
And Nate Parker can bounce back, every action has an opposite and equal reaction. Especially since he has shown the ability to spearhead his own project.
