Hey, I feel you as my daughters prefer dubs over subs. So damn near anything I watch, I'm seeing for the 2nd time because I'm almost exclusively subbed.
Really does give a different vibe.
I don't know how people watch dubs. I can't stand the way they talk in them. You can just tell even beyond translation that the dialog is constructed to fit the scene and the characters don't speak in a natural cadence. At least with subtitles they don't have to try and make he dialog fit they can just translate it.
In general I typically turn on subtitles for almost everything I watch. When I watch whatever it's almost always in the native language it was made in.

Finished Vinland Saga. Gotta the read the manga to know how Thorfinn develops from here, now that his hollow purpose for living has been shattered.
This anime had the best take on revenge I've seen in the medium. Shows the long term consequences of someone who only lives to kill another person without a plan for their own future. One of the promiment themes was that a true warrior realizes they have no inherent enemies, and that true strength is displayed when someone is able to fight for the sake of peace without the intent of killing other people. Because to kill is to propogate a cycle of violence that never stops and will eventually catch up to you.
Guessing that in the manga Thorfinn develops into a pacifist as he learns what it means to be a Warrior as his father was. Similar to the path of Kenshin.

I’m half and half when it comes to subs vs dubs. If it’s available, I’ll try dubbed first. Like if it’s an old series. But all news series, that I actually care about, I go subs.
i don’t mind dubs if done well makes the anime seem like a different experience also for me
I watch dragon ball z both sub and dub and both seem different in that aspect cuz of voice over and translation
I prefer sub but sometimes dub is more convenient cuz I won’t have to read also
