Females-He gave them Lilly Ledbetter

Latinos-He gave them the Dream Act

Gays-Ends Don't Ask Don't Tell/Publically supports same sex marriage

Blacks-?

..

Black females.... Black latinos/immigrants.... Black gays......

.... Guess they don't count?

Obeezy can't be Malcolm X, he damn near lost the 2007 primaries just for having once said that he admired Malcolm X. Some of y'all need to get real, Obama is playing a game that NO man of color in the world has to - imagine someone like my man Gandhi had a billion brown people backing him in his own damn country. Obama has 14% of the country and some of those trying to tear him down.

You need to read his 'Dreams..' Book, aside from praising Malcolm he basically touches on ALL the shyt brown people/white people expected from him growing up and will expect from him going forward.

Other than being a brown man he's an individual, one that I disagree with very much on certain things but an individual nonetheless he doesn't owe anyone shyt. Its not his responsibility that we share skin colors and it was your choice to vote for him. He didn't make you. He never said he would spend 24 hours a day fighting for poor black folk by any means necessary. In fact whenever he went out and spoke to black folk he was very honest.

Looking at his career, reading into his thoughts and watching him progress - nothing perfect but I can only :salute: while disagreeing.

Using this man and blackface in the same sentence? fukk that :shaq2:

lol @ this :cape:

dont put words in my mouth, i said what i said, a lot of black people are and have outsourced the black agenda to leftist ideologies which is a mistake IMO, and yeah i am exercising my right to separate they two, if you want to outsource the black agenda to the progressive agenda that's your right also

What did I attribute to you that you didn't say? Show me.

Who are these Black people, and which are these leftist ideologies Black problems have been "outsourced" to that are completely separate from Black history and were not critically shaped by Black people from within? Let's hear some names.

lets say that this highly dubious statement that "very major Black advancement made in this country since segregation has been made under the auspices of progressivism." is correct

Yeah, let's say it is, because it is. Prove it wrong, if you think you can. I'll admit that I'm wrong if you manage it.

does that mean i as a black person owe some thing to progressives besides a handshake? does that mean i have to judge black leaders based on the criteria of how progressive they are, so in essence blackness and leftist leanings are equivalent criteria? really?

Of course not. I never said that. In fact, I said the exact opposite. :beli:

Funny how this breakdown totally ignores the most oppressed demonized deographic on the planet...

The American Black Male...

And no I don't really "expect" anything from a politician..

But I'm also not gonna pull out my :cape: for him when brothers like Dr. West pull his card...

I'm too old to be worried about some sticks and stones nonsense aswell... I'll leave the "gettin offended" routine to the bleeding hearts (who's hearts bleed for everyone but young Black men)

Says who? You? You sound like a good slave. Its ok to cater to whites, hispanics, gays, and jews but blacks are off limits? Since when? Only since 2004 has dumb racist sh!t like this been parroted by cacs afraid on losing influnce and braindead negros who "know their place".
Foolishness.

He had a re-election to campaign for. This is American politics.

The American Black Gay man isn't an American Black male? What about a black male immigrant? Are black males benefitting from health care? Will black males benefit from investing in education? Will black men in the army benefit from not having to fight dumb wars?

Obama has done, or at least tried to do, a bunch of things that will/would help black American men. Is there anything specific you want(ed) him to do?

...oh and young American black men being the most demonized on the planet.... :what:

What did I attribute to you that you didn't say? Show me.

this is what you said

so painting leftism as something exterior to Black history and the historical Black agenda is simply inaccurate.

which isnt what i said, you are rebutting something i never said, what i said is that a lot of black people and black leaders outsourced the black agenda to leftist ideologies, so obviously the leftist politics are definitely part of black history, i wasnt trying to seperate them historically, im actually uniting them, im simply expressing my opinion about the outsourcing

Who are these Black people, and which are these leftist ideologies Black problems have been "outsourced" to that are completely separate from Black history and were not critically shaped by Black people from within? Let's hear some names.

a lot of them, dubois embracing communism for one and west embracing "progressivism" for two

Yeah, let's say it is, because it is. Prove it wrong, if you think you can. I'll admit that I'm wrong if you manage it.

its too broad and subjective to really argue about, its more of partisan statement then a serious historical statement, thats like saying that every major american advancement has been under the auspices of "progressivism",

are colin powell, condelleza rice major african american achievements? was Eisenhower sending troops to arkansa a major african american achievement and under the auspices of "progressivism"? was nixon instituting affirmative action a major african american achievement? were the rockefeller republicans who provided the actual votes for passage of the civil rights laws doing it under the auspices of "progressivism"? if i as an african american take a dump which i consider to be a major achievement am i doing it under the auspices of "progressivism"?

i dont think that its fruitful issue to argue about, if you believe what you said, then go ahead, my real question is, even if that is true what exactly do i owe "progressivism" besides a handshake and a pat on the back?

Of course not. I never said that. In fact, I said the exact opposite.

then we agree, obama's "blackness" should not be judged by his "progressivism"

What specifically has he done for Black males (or Black people period)?

The reason I ask for specifics and not vague umbrella action like "healthcare" and "ending war" is because I have named specific moves he has done for other segments of his base...

Using your intelectually dishonest logic, Romney would also do his part for Black men because he was fighting to keep Russell Simmons tax rate low (and some rich people are Black too)

Cornel West: Obama Is A ‘Rockefeller Republican In Blackface’ | Breaking News for Black America
As Doc said earlier, you know, is he ever going to say the word prison—the phrase, “prison-industrial complex”? Reagan wouldn’t say “AIDS.” Bush wouldn’t say “climate change.” Will Obama say“prison-industrial complex”? I mean, I want to know where the risk is that equates to being the most progressive president ever. That’s the—I don’t get that.”

Now that point I thoroughly agree with. The effect of the prison industrial complex on black and brown brothas since the 80s is an issue Obama has and will not put any considerable amount of attention to. And truth be told it's a subject mainstream media wont touch either.

The blackface comment was too much but lol at Dr. West putting him and Tavis in the same sentence as Frederick Douglass by saying he's pushing the prez. I understand the point he's trying to make, but cmon fam...

Obama is the President of a country, it's now a negative that instead of helping out JUST black folk he tries helping as many peopl as possible? That's quite a fukking bar you've set for him.

He's trying to improve health and education for everyone and you're upset asking 'but what has he done for black men :sadcam:'

Really?

And that's Intellectually dishonest... You compare Romney giving rich folk a tax break with... Health care and education for all :leostare:

The only specific issues he addressed were immigration and don't ask don't tell. Please give me a comparable issue for black men.

There are no laws/issues specifically addressing black men, so there are no laws/issues he can change that would specifically effect black men.

I never said he should help JUST Black people...Those are your words...

You seem like either a true believer or a flat out apologist..

Either way, we don't see eye to eye on this issue...
