Them Mexicans and other Hispanics will work for Wells Fargo and don't even know. For generations at that.
But who got the worst rates?
It was systemic, and self-fulfilling.
Black people in the US are disproportionately low-income, and much of the last two generations were already saddles with student loan debt, not to mention many of the neighborhoods in which we owned houses were falling apart and dropping in value rapidly.
The banks targeted the low-income, and yes specifically Black, home/property buyers, with high-interest, faulty loans.
What Wells Fargo is doing is trying to profit as much money as possible from the largest growing ethnic group in the US, and they are veiling it as "helping the "Hispanic" community grow." In reality, a lot of these loans will likely fail, and the banks will make billions without being held accountable,.
