Prolly not. But then again I'm not insecure like most guys who pump themselves full of roids to look big. I train for 2 reasons: (1) health and (2) aesthetics. There are no health benefits to being heavy (even if its muscle). In fact a lot of the scientific research says that less weight is linked with longevity. Prolly cause more weight puts more stress on your body's organs and circulatory system. And then in terms of aesthetics, I find nothing appealing about being extremely big. I find the lean athletic physique to be more aesthetic. That is why I train the way I train. I'm not looking to look like a bodybuilder. I'd rather have the physique of a basketball player like prime Michael Jordan.

This Jordan?

:dahell: why you catching feelings?

I'm here to just pass on knowledge to those that want it. You can keep catching feelings. Just know I could care less. I'm not here to try and prove myself to you. So go ahead and post your workouts. I'll just be sitting back laughing at how desperate you are for internet clout.

These dudes don't workout..

For starters, all gains are made in the kitchen. Yes thats a popular quote, but its just facts..

Secondly calisthenics, IMO, will never beat high rep weight training..

We'd put 140lbs worth of 10lb weights on the bar, do reps of 10, while dropping 20lbs after each rep. We did that until our muscles were on fire..

That can be done with any muscle group on the body and will have you cut.. Then if you wanted to get bigger, you'd increase the weight and make adjustments in the diet.

All this jumping from trees and climbing mountains is cool, but will never take the place of basic weight lifting techniques.

Thank you,

Calisthenics is this new age thinking much like veganism, CrossFit and other new age nonsense. Nothing gets you jacked, builds muscle, makes you as strong as high rep weight lifting. With strict form and time under tension training not only will you have bigger muscles, you will also have better CNS response time, more anaerobic and more strength. It is a training system they cannot be beaten in the athletic aspect and arena. The “only issue” with weight training is you train muscle for short explosive movement thus you lose some aerobic capability. But who cares, humans were designed to be lean muscular cheetah built like creatures. Sometimes the answer is so simple but humans always want to complicate things. Ramp up the protein and fat and get under that bar.

If you never felt a real bodybuilding/high rep pump, you never have lived life :ahh:

WRONG! Soldiers have doing Calisthenics since ancient times. Fighters have using employing floor work since before steel was invented. Weight lifting is not superior to calisthenics.

They are, but weighted pullups are not the same as most of these "pull-ups" cats like @Swagnificent prolly be doing.

Agreed, it's not about going heavy. But think about how many cats in a gym can't do a working set with 225.

So yeah, I really don't think that 175 pound cali dude is doing 4x10 @ 225. Not impossible, not saying none of em can, just not most em. :yeshrug:

Y'all calis crew boys be easy though. :hubie:

Thinking about this you rarely bb types excel at combat sports. Most combat dudes are functionally strong.

This is BS, calisthenics are the new wave and he's capitalizing. If you take two guys that are the same exact size and have one do pushups only while the other does high volume weight training, he will be bigger and stronger than the guy that only does pushups.

On the other hand, if you take those same two guys and have one do a gang of push ups while the other does low volume strength training, the guy that does pushups may look bigger and be more cut but the guy strength training will obviously be stronger.

Bodyweight training have been used for thousands of years. Proper weight training is probably about 120 years old. Ancient armies have use calisthenics since time is been recorded to condition fighters so please tell me how this is New Age stuff?
