We owe Spike Lee a huge Apology

for the record, I don't even agree with Spike's opinion. but it's the way that people shytted on him for having that opinion that I had a problem with. with white people it was expected, but the way black people went so hard at him while for QT was ridiculous. and that idiot Uncle Luke, responsible for some of the most ignorant shyt in black music history, calling him an Uncle Tom was the last straw

craziest thing is that Tarantino basically shytted on Roots, yet more black people seemed to have a problem with Spike complaining about Django's premise. that should tell you something right there

I'm not talking about comedic moments in a movie; pretty much all movies have that. I'm talking about the overall tone of films. Django Unchained was not a serious movie.

You think somebody's going to allow for a Holocaust western to come out next year? No. And you wouldn't defend that shyt either. But if it has to do with Black people, there will of course be people like you on it like white on rice ready to defend.

A holcaust western would make no sense at all. You comparing apples to oranges. But again there have been plenty of non-serious movies that deal with the holocaust. I don't see how this is even a debate when the same director made inglorious basterds that movie had the same non-serious tone.

The only reason I defend this movie is because the alternative is not having a movie with black folks in it, or that attempts to tell a story about black folks. Any succesful movie with black actors/stories is a step torward more movies with black actors/stories. You don't have to like them all, but think about the damage you do by tearing them down, especially someone as powerful and influential as spike lee. It's irresponsible to shyt on this movie, while allowing the ironmans, transformers, and latest Ben affleck movie to ignore black people's existence altogether.
