Looking back at it, Drake's come up does seem a bit sketchy. Look at Wiz Khalifa & look at Drake. It took Wiz like 12 mixtapes to get on. He started back in 2005 & he didn't blow until 2010. You seen the kid's progression from here.....

It was a long time coming with that nikka. Even with Kush & Orange Juice being one of the hottest mixtapes, none of them joints was on radio or BET/MTV & he had videos out. Drake's shyt looks a lil suspect in comparison. Grammy nominations. Constant rotations for his songs & videos on radio & TV. Becoming a household name before he dropped his 3rd tape shyt don't add up. The Warmup wasn't on the radio. Kush & OJ wasn't on the radio. Overly Dedicated wasn't on the radio. But So Far Gone was
Drake was either pushed or he had more personal resources than these other dudes. Not knocking the nikka. Just saying, you give a $100,000 and alot of industry contacts on your rolodex, which Drake had back then, to any young semi-dope rapper trying to make it & a good portion of the time, he'll blow. fukk, I wish i had that
Wiz was signed to Warner Bros. in 2007 before "Say Yeah" came out. So 2005 to 2007 is only 2 years to get a deal. Things went sour at Warner but Wiz still had his connects and also a moneyman behind him. Once you've been signed to a Major it's easier to get another deal because you've already laid out the groundwork. Drake put out "Replacement Girl" in 2007 & didn't get signed to Universal until 2009... 2 years... just like Wiz... one nikkaz situation went sour & the others didn't. Wiz bounced back & is now that nikka. Wiz came back & started working with Stargate who was arguably the biggest production team in the game... Drake ended up working with Wayne arguably the biggest nikka in the game at the time...
They have very similar paths & just because it took Wiz more mixtapes to blow then Drake doesn't mean anything. Big Sean put out about 4-5 mixtapes before he got signed to Def Jam even though he was already on G.O.O.D...
And that last paragraph is false... it's plenty of decent rappers out there that have had a lot of drug money behind them... waaaaaaay more then $100k, have had big features & major production & still haven't blown. Some nikkaz got it & some nikkaz don't...
