So you're bandwagon city. I dont recall you ever saying anything like that about Bryan until now. No matter. As for drawing...put him in the main event of Summerslam and see what happens. Cena is the champion so any number is really on him just like it was on Rock and Punk earlier this year.

I didn't have to talk shyt about you, kid. All I had to do was point out the obvious and you went into defensive mode talking about porn and wrestling as a defense mechanism because you feel slighted and threatened. Same ol story as everyone else. But next time..keep your lies to a medium and speak the truth so I won't have to straight out your common misconceptions and sensationalism.

And apparently Sensible=Naive...lol. Trolls backing trolls. Of course...why not?
i have been a big supporter of Bryan but i am on the bandwagon now? lies? what fukking lies have i ever said about you? Please get real.

WTF does Phoenix have to do with anything and with the prices of today? It was a huge fukking stretch to get anyone to go out of their way to watch some near 50 year old man defend a streak they know he's gonna maintain and watch a Fruity Pebble corporate puppet win again. No..you needed more than that to sell in New York. And that's why Rock and Lesnar were brought in...the wrong people won and the show fell flat but that goes without saying since youre about as out of touch as McMahon is with his perceptions these days.

Brock's UFC numbers don't mean shyt to the WWE market. He bareley did 350k at Summerslam and the Rock has done bigger business outside of the UFC and the WWE for over 10 years now. That's why he's a money sign..they still try to profit off of him when he's not there. "Rockpocalypse", bringing up his movies, and now the damn game cover. Why isn't Lesnar on that cover? Hmmm.....
Movies don't equal ppv buys :what: lesnar probably wanted 25 mil for the cover :myman: New York is a damn wrestling city you really think it wouldn't sell without the rock :what: come on man troll harder than that !! Maybe it wouldn't do as much but it'll do close to a mil and w wouldn't have had to see struggle main event ........l
Oh and those crowd chants for punk vs rock must still be eating your soul huh :myman::myman:

Regardless of the ratings, the E is gonna push whoever they want. :manny: CM GAWD was drawing low ratings during his run and didn't get de-pushed because of it. I doubt the company cares about ratings as much as they used to, since they know wrestling just aint what's popping in the streets. Plus that Stanley Cups final did crazy numbers. Like at least 10 million people watched that shyt. While the WWE can only get 4 million to watch their product even when the Rock comes through. Ya'll need to stop bringing up ratings. Ya'll only do it to push your agenda.

HBKGOAT helping a young man become great. "I went and got trained by Shawn Michaels. It's very important, we say in WWE, to get professionally trained if you're going to do this. Don't try this at home, it's very dangerous.

"So, yeah, I went and trained with the best. Shawn Michaels is awesome. I went and trained for a full year down there and then I went to train with William Regal in Memphis. I've trained all over the world with some of the best wrestlers.

And this is why I stopped even looking at ratings years ago.

Everyone who ever bean counts always goes back on their bean counting ways when it comes to their favorite or their hated wrestlers.

Beancounting is the #1 thing that's wrong with pro wrestling fans

He wasn't losing viewers, but from when he won the belt to about May or June 2012, he was consistently getting lower than average overruns when he was in that spot (an average overrun is around 550,000-600,000 added viewers). But nothing even close to this.

That's one of the lowest overrun numbers I've ever seen. At least since I started following these Nielsen numbers. But pushing a new guy takes time. And putting him with Orton (who's been proven to be Nielsen poison) probably had something to do with that low number as well. If he's still getting these low overruns in 3 months with people not named Randy Orton, it might be time to panic. Punk not only had better numbers, but he was also wildly over in arenas and was neck and neck merch sales-wise with Cena. Bryan's just arena over. Fickle WWE writers can take that away at a whim (or at least try really, really hard to do so).

My main point with this thread was never about no got damn overrun rating but the constant pessimism guys like Meltzter have when an internet favorite shows any glimpse of not being a big anything (superstar, draw, promo, wrestler, etc). He did the same with Punk's reign and he's gonna do it with D-Bry's push. No matter how obvious WWE's stance is on somebody, he will go back time and time again to his "they are not their ideal superstar so don't be surprised if they pull the plug on their push" bullshyt. It's just funny breh.

You think Mania season is a bigger draw than a guy who has brought in nearly a billion dollars in his projects this year? HAHAHAHA. The WWE is a fukking joke. Before Rock came back, they weren't doing numbers. They were like bums on the street needing the Mayweathers and Trump types to bring in what CM Punk and John Cena could not bring in..causal viewers. Everything the Rock has touched has made money since he came back. You can't say the same thing for the WWE. He's already at what? 40 million this year..that's more than the whole McMahon family combined.

This internet jargon trying to discredit him doesn't have legs. It never did. You can bring up the Chicago pop for Punk all you want but all he did was 117k increases after a Lesnar angle started up? They're the "true MVPs" of the business and they can't even get a fukking 200k gain across the board? WTF kind of buffoonary is this? LMAO! It's 1995 level. The Rock shyt is selling...WM 29 got bashed but the shyt is selling, isn't it? The video game deal is all the McMahons can talk about this week and 2k made it CRYSTAL clear that they wanted Rock on that cover above any lame they got on that fukking roster. 40 year old Rock..think about that and get your game up instead of lying and acting like Brooks online. 3.0s before was on before Mania season? Nah..that shyt was on Punk's shoulders and it was 2.5s and 2.6s. Wack shyt like that. Punk as champion=2.5. Rock as champion=3.7*filed and ALWAYS UNDERSTOOD*
#fullretard :heh:

Yes Mania season is bigger than one wrestler. Ratings are up every year for Mania season regardless of who's on the shows. Rock attaching himself to successful film franchises is irrelevant. Any given wrestler being champ is irrelevant to ratings. Rock being featured on Raw's that drew 3.0's is fact.

Put your helmet back on, Erik.

And the only agendas being fulfilled are those looking for excuses for guys that can't get the job done with year long pushes to boot.

Doesn't apply to me..it applys to a champion that can't even get a fukking 3.0 after going over the ENTIRE roster:laugh: I thought he was "puttiing asses in seats" He said he "brought Attitude back" in one slogan...yeah. Alot of asses in those 8500 fillers. lol. But as usual, as always..this is to be expected. Another thread where I have to point out the facts and trolls have to be little girls. That's it. Simple business.

Serious question: how do they count ratings and how each segment gains and loses viewers? Because of work, I record Raw and Smackdown on my DVR but never get to watch either until several days after they air. I'm sure lots of people in this day and age have the same problem. Is that counted when they do ratings? :patrice:

When you become a "Nielsen Household," there's a little box that is connected to your TV, which records information on your viewing habits, which shows you watch, when you watch those shows. From that pool of Nielsen viewers, they then come up with the ratings composites. It's very similar to sociological research in Academics in how they generalize and come up with ratings and ratings patterns (the problem with this being that it's difficult to determine a proper sample size. Only .02% of homes participate in Nielsen research, but that's about 25,000 televisions. Not to mention that services like Hulu aren't factored into ratings at all)

As for DVR data, that's considered, but only after the fact. It's not included in things like segment breakdowns or the fast number that we get on Wednesdays, but it's usually something like a 10% bump (maybe a little more than that, since more and more people are watching things on DVR).

It's not terrible, per se (their resistance to including DVR numbers in reported ratings at the behest of advertisers is complete bullshyt though), but with the way that media is consumed nowadays, measuring this one thing and taking it to be the be all and end all of television consumption is a bit of an anachronism. Whatever.
