Not saying that this is exactly the case here, but I love how we instantly disbelieve a journalist (or the closest thing to one in pro wrestling circles), but IMMEDIATELY believe a guy whose ex-profession might as well be called "PROFESSIONAL LIAR."

Just saying. :yeshrug:

We do that we every report. Regardless of who is giving the news (Meltzer, Johnson, a writer or a wrestler), we tend to believe the rumors we want to believe. As you said, wrestling is filled with people who lie to get what they want so it's impossible to know with 100% certainty if what we are hearing/reading is true.

Last week this whole forum was calling bullshyt on the Bryan/HHH altercation but had no problem believing Heyman and Dirty Dutch wrote last week's episode of RAW.

Wrestler saying dirtsheets are wrong is no different. Depending on who is talking and what they are saying, we are gonna believe them or not :manny:

Can't we just enjoy who we enjoy? Unless someone or some people on this board are receiving a check from Vince McMahon, what the fukk do the ratings matter? Or is it just a way to build up your favorites when they're on top and tear down who you don't like when the ratings are in the shytter? So if D-Bry gets to be WWE champ and the ratings are still low, will y'all be trashing D-Bry the way y'all trashed Punk(even though I haven't seen anyone really dig in Vince's or the writers' asses for the shytty and :mindblown: writing and for programming the audience to think that if it ain't Cena it ain't shyt, but I digress)?

What does the ratings matter? It shows fans turning in for someone and tuning out on a guy. Pretty simple. It's how Monday Night Raw stayed on in competition when they were getting their asses kicked by a hotter program when they chose to keep things "New Generation" before change came. Not a hard thing to comprehend. The little timid "I'm not getting paid what Vince is" bullshyt is an excuse from a fanbase who guys aren't getting it done. In truth, no one is really drawing anything...they don't sell out consistently and the shirts aren't making a killing or they wouldn't be doing all those extra international shows that DO sell out and fans get overly excited for.

Vince McMahon is commenting on guys making a Forbes list..he doesn't give ONE fukk about these great "5 Star matches". He never does. Austin's name didn't mean shyt to him until Austin 3:16 turned profit and that's when he started wanting Bret to get the fukk out of his company to go with a newer star.

Because Meltzer has shytty sources, and why would HBK lie about this? If HBK didn't want to "jinx" Bryan why would he say Vince is "Big on DB". Finally, Vince "not seeing money" in DB is patently ridiculous.

He could have been talking about Wade Barrett, Cesaro, even Sheamus, or someone like this in the 6'3 250 range who isn't getting the push that Bryan is.

Why would HBK lie about this? Well, he IS under contract to WWE and very close with the higher ups in the company...

And how is the bold patently ridiculous? Looking over the presentation of wrestlers in WWF/WWE in the past and currently, smaller guys have ALWAYS had a harder time getting sustained pushes. That's only changed recently, and then barely. You don't need a report from Meltzer to see that.

I don't know what the situation is or who he's talking about, but it seems pretty myopic to dismiss something just because Michaels said so. A wrestler's profession is deception. Period.

But personally, I don't give a fukk who he's talking about...

First of all R=G, we have our beefs but you are by fare easily the best poster in TSC since i`ve frrequeented this place.
2md of all, i`m glad they went on last. but they didn`t top WM25/
I`m going to be real with all of you, I cried and I fuccing cried hard tonight, say what you will, but i`m glad I have this moment. He never got the send away he deserved, and I think even his haters can say that. HBK we`ll miss you`ll always be in our heaerts, God Bless and Best of Wishes for yoiur Family.

In essence, if not for me, this pretender wouldn't even had a reason to be here. That goes with the majority who used to PM me at other spots trying to get here...just saying. Everyone speaks like me, talks like me, wants to endlessly debate about Punk for whatever reason, crys about the Rock like that's gonna change anything, etc. I'm that button..I bring hidden posters out in the light and turn those believed reasonable by the board at large into double talkers and liars. That's why I'm me and everyone else is trying to fit in and make sense of it all.

They're so frustrated at this point, they rely on smilies instead of doing what they came here for: to talk about wrestling:laugh:

Because dirtsheets can be full of shyt. Especially in this situation when somehow a bunch of 'sources' just happened to be around to hear a conversation btwn Michaels and McMahon, and never said anything to Meltzer about said conversation until Michaels mentioned it somewhere, and then threw in that the unnamed person was the guy WWE is currently pushing the fukk out of. And instantly, because Meltzer knew they would, people decided to believe it as fact.

And you're missing my point.

Yeah, the sheets can be deceptive, but a wrestler's very existence is predicated on being deceptive. Who's to say that Michaels isn't trying cover something that wasn't supposed to leak by lying about it? We all know how anal WWE can be with leaks, even insignificant ones.

Again, we believe who we want and when we want to believe depending on our stance on what's being reported. Wrestling is about working people so if we go by that we shouldn't buy into anything that's ever said about the business. But that's boring as fukk because we wouldn't have much to discuss about.

Is a wrestler more reliable than a Dave Meltzer or a Mike Johnson? As always in wrestling, depends on the wrestler and the subject at hand.

His comments were blown out of proportion. He could be talking about anybody. Meltzer jumped the gun and was wrong for the millionth time. Simple as that.

Because the way he said it wasn't a big deal. He could be talking about anybody. Meltzer jumped the gun and was wrong for the millionth time. Simple as that.

Are you absolutely sure that this is true? :usure:

Or are you sure just because Michaels said it wasn't Bryan? Honestly, if we're going by Michaels' wording, wouldn't it more than likely be someone his size of smaller?

No. That's you making assumptions. Like I said earlier in the thread, I made the same assumption. I was wrong and so was Meltzer.
