That Martin Garrix track isn't too bad. Typical Garrix progressive drop. That's a great lane to be in since its growing like crazy. I just hate the ratchet records from him. I'm starting to dislike Trey's ratchet shyt too.

Beyonce's dominance has way more to do with her life and image then her music. She's basically cultivated a cult over the years through chess move after chess move. Remember, that 4 album was considered a flop..then she spent a year working on an album she ended up scrapping altogether...she crushed the buildings by dropping unexpected with videos and finally opening up about her relationship and sexuality.... then she did it even bigger this year...Usher dont have the storyline for that. JD even said the reason Confessions went the route it went was because he felt Usher was boring...so he added a storyline to him, coinciding with the breakup with Chili and wala...10 mil sold....I dont know how he could recapture that. He could make straight up grown man rnb but that alone wont help him sell..in fact it might hinder more than help in this era..labels prolly give him the :camby: if he turned in a traditional rnb record..and he knows that so he's playing it safe.

Three things happened.

Justin Timbaland and Chris Brown stole half of his fanbase the two years after consessions dropped.. Then he got married. It was over right when he got married. Whatever was left of his fanbase bounced on him. It didn't help that his album was based off of that too.

Fell off after Confessions
Work with polow da Don instead of jd, brehs
Made a bunch of gay techno
Married a broad that looked like she could be his mom
Didn't oldwife cause problems with his mom
Then got divorced
Then made that stripper song with Migos

All that = his core fanbase of black women sent him to dem bushes

i still believe usher could comeback
music in general is at an all time low
there is no real competition out there right now because almost everyone is settlin' for below the bar bullshyt
so he could easily swoop back in the game like it ain't nothin' with well written and produced songs/albums/music

get this nikka back in the studio with these nikkas!

I just laugh when ppl say JD aint on Dre's level as a producer.

JD can actually craft an entire song himself. Beat, concept, lyrics.

if i was usher's manager this is what i would recommend

scrap that no limit bullshyt asap!

let's do an unplug or live concert for bet. let's remind day 1/old fans and reintroduce you to a new generation with a live cd of your hits. it's almost sept now

then i would come right back with a christmas album for december. in this day and age, you gotta keep the music comin' but without oversaturatin'

because the christmas album would be covers, he can knock that out like it ain't nothin' in no time

now in the meanwhile, be doin' shows here and there and just poppin' up so your face stays in the public eye

all the while, just workin' on the new album; workin' back with jermaine dupri. dupri does wonders for usher and mariah carey. he got magic with those 2 artists

by next summer, have the album ready to put out with larger than life singles to dominate the game and an album filled with nothin' but great songs. very well written and produced songs

usher need to get back with dupri. he needs to work with him and babyface

usher too busy tryin' to sound like all these nikkas that were actually lookin' up to him over 10 years ago instead of bein' a man, his own man and makin' music for where he's at now in his life
I couldn't care any less about Usher or his career but this was a good post

yup

yeah, people don't give jermaine dupri his credit but bruh is really talented and on the same level as a dr. dre for the simple fact that not only does he produce but he writes too

i've always been a bigger fan of jermaine's r&b input then hip hop however i do agree, he never seems to get his props in the way that a dr. dre does and it's unfair because jermaine really knows what works when it comes to this music shyt

usher ain't really start takin' off with his career until he got up with jermaine and they did the "u make me wanna" track. when usher got with jermaine that's when the stars aligned for him and his career because jermaine knew the right songs to give him and how to market and promote him

Beyonce is making empoweringusic for women and feminists while Usher is making thot music thsr displays a lack of awareness and maturity.

He played himself and hasn't matured with his audience. He was chasing hits and tryna keep up with the kids. Looks hella corny for it too.

Because he trend hopped and now just sounds like a sad old man tryna be down.

That No Limit song is a good contender for WOAT from a good artist.

it's 2016, right. "you make wanna" came out in 1997, 19 years ago

listen to this song RIGHT NOW and tell me it don't still hold up. tell me it ain't a classic!

usher was 19 years old and singin' a WELL written and produced song that spoke for him and where he and many young nikkas was at in their lives

AND where many young nikkas today are at 19!

it's called, write and produced songs that deal with TIMELESS topics in a tasteful manner and you'll come out with great results

case in point, this classic
