Ok,how do you know her older fan base dont like that song?
i heard enough people within that age group say they don't care for this song. they like her first couple of hits. her older songs appealed more to a mature listening audience. listen to the lyrics and that says it all. drunk in love sound like something for teeny bobbers

if i was usher's manager this is what i would recommend

scrap that no limit bullshyt asap!

let's do an unplug or live concert for bet. let's remind day 1/old fans and reintroduce you to a new generation with a live cd of your hits. it's almost sept now

then i would come right back with a christmas album for december. in this day and age, you gotta keep the music comin' but without oversaturatin'

because the christmas album would be covers, he can knock that out like it ain't nothin' in no time

now in the meanwhile, be doin' shows here and there and just poppin' up so your face stays in the public eye

all the while, just workin' on the new album; workin' back with jermaine dupri. dupri does wonders for usher and mariah carey. he got magic with those 2 artists

by next summer, have the album ready to put out with larger than life singles to dominate the game and an album filled with nothin' but great songs. very well written and produced songs

usher need to get back with dupri. he needs to work with him and babyface

usher too busy tryin' to sound like all these nikkas that were actually lookin' up to him over 10 years ago instead of bein' a man, his own man and makin' music for where he's at now in his life

You're doing way too much. Who the hell is doing unplugged concerts for TV? BET doesn't even have music programming like that anymore. A Christmas album?:dahell: Leave shyt like that for Tyrese.

All he needs is to focus on making a great album again. To do that he needs to mature and make music suitable for his age while still reaching a wide audience. He's done this before (Burn, You Don't Have to Call). This might be a surprise but stop or limit dancing. He was :flabbynsick: in the No Limit video. He doesn't need to rely on that at his age. Give them a few moves here and there but he's not what he was in that area.

Don't dig Jermaine out of the grave. If he still had it he'd be making music right now. Yeah it would be a nice story but that's it. At most let him executive producer it.

Pharrell is still making hits and him and Usher are a great fit. Have him do a chunk of the album. Timbaland too. Get some new guys in there like Kaytranada who can give you a fresh sound. Get some good writers to pen some ballads. He needs to get in the lab. No shows or any of that. Just take his time and grind until he has something great.

he started makin' bullshyt ass music after confessions and he's NEVER come close to makin' music on par with that album and his previous albums
usher had the world in the palm of his hands after confessions too; he was suppose to own r&b after that
it's a shame too, because bruh can still sing and dance but he just too busy chasin' trends instead of settin' them now

remember that wack ass edm phase he went though? all that wack ass david guetta and will i am bullshyt music he was puttin' out

I don't see how they compare. Beyonce is an Icon, a legend, a truly global artist and performer. Enough people actually see her as royalty(Queen) or divine(Goddess) that "white" megastars wouldn't even be able to dethrone her. She's a thousand times more interesting and captivating than Usher.

Beyonce is transcendent, Usher can dance. :ld:

Usher is all of those things tho. Elite performer(you don't get props from mj & James brown if you're not) & one of the best selling artists of all time.

Confessions was the last major
milestone in r&b music.

The major difference is that usher doesn't have an obsessive cult following as well being in a high profile relationship.

Usher also peaked a lot earlier. Bout time Beyonce went solo Usher was already about decade in the game as a solo artist.

His marriage also took a major shot to his image/mystique. That's when some of his female fan base turned on him.

I don't think Usher is an Icon, or transcendent. You agree that he doesn't have an obsessive cult, and that's a big part of my point. Beyonce is worshipped. She has a ultra hardcore fanbase, as hardcore as one can get. As for the high profile relationship, I think another thing that makes her a bit of a feminist Icon as well is that she is perceived to dominate her husband and be the main star in their relationship, unusual for a woman. She's a lot more political and socially conscious than Usher, which in today's overly political climate, makes her a useful ally/weapon and gives her reach far outside of just music.

Again, Usher is just a performer. Beyonce is much more.

I completely agree that Usher peaked a lot earlier, but that doesn't really help the argument that he should have his own lane "like Beyonce". He never could have had a lane like her because he was never as big outside of the music.

I also agree that his marriage hit his image hard, but then again, the reason why it could do that is because he was basically just a "true playa for real". His lack of complexity and depth is what made him so vulnerable to losing his fans once his perceived availability was gone.

If anything, D'Angelo should be the one have his own lane "like Beyonce". He actually has the depth, the talent, and the complexity to be larger than life like Beyonce is and develop a hardcore fanbase and appeal to the masses. Unfortunately he ran into some major mental problems though, including writers block and he wasn't built for the fame and it crushed him.

I don't agree with the bold.

You don't go diamond(something not even Beyonce has ever done) & become one of the biggest saling artists without being an icon.

One of the most respected artists in the industry.

Usher is without a doubt the best male performer since mj. He's not your average performer.

Beyonce is a bigger star so her socially conscious efforts are magnified a lot more compared to an usher. Usher has made some socially conscious moves, but that goes under the radar because his star isn't as bright as it once was during the prime of his career.

As far as a d`angelo his music was never built to have a fanbase like a Beyonce or an usher.

His appeal was always limited.

Beyonce's music has been innovative since her self titled album, and I loved the 4 too

Usher has been relatively stale since Confessions. I've liked some of his hits since though
