but jermaine needs to be on board with usher and in control of the album; executive producin', ideas, themes, concepts, writin'/producin' along with his in house crew

When you are active for 20 years, it's not that weird that you dry up. And Usher has been chasing what's hot out instead of being an innovator, unlike Beyonce who has been an innovator. She has been working with people from all over the place, even indie folk artists last time (Father John Misty) and whatever.

But he's far from over. But as far as having stans goes, I don't think women stan R&B artists reaching their 40s the same way they do with young artists (although he's still probably the biggest male R&B artist after Weeknd and JT). Beyonce's stan base is on another level, close to Nas and Justin Bieber stans. And dudes don't really stan older R&B artists either, young dudes stan the ones that move like rappers (Weeknd, trap soul dude etc) but not really.

Usher dropped a mature album called here I stand after confessions. The only reason why it gets hated on by some people is because it wasn't confessions 2.0, but it was still a solid album.

Truth be told usher never truly abandoned r&b. He been making r&b music post confessions. What people gotta understand is that Usher is just as much of a pop star as he is an r&b artist.

I don't mind and no limit gets play because that's what people want to hear.

Usher still got the voice and the dance moves. R&b has changed significantly over the years so he adapted to the change.

Usher had way more competition to deal with and has always had going back as far as the 90s and early 00s.

Usher went edm because the auto tune era killed r&b commercially and edm became big.
