US prison labor is used in the supply chain of major retailers. Basically modern slavery.

Is that how you feel about people who have victimized your loved ones to the point they get put in a cage?

You must have lived a very carefree life so far.

A man gets 10 years for raping your family member

"Aww shucks they shouldn't be exploiting his labor" 🤡

"You shot my sister, can i put some money on your books?" 🤡

What planet are you living on
If prison labor is seen as valuable...

there is an incentive to provide the workforce....

ie. that DA gonna have extra pressure because the mayor's bid for his next election is being helped by the tax dollars from a corporation thats helping clean up the city/provide servcices (a topic he can run on) that same corporation would be donating to his campaign too... that corporation is also benefitting from the prison labor...now back to the DA..... "

this was major case of a judge sentencing kids to extra time/innocent kids sent away because he was getting kickbacks

I understand the moral/emotional principle you are speaking from...
but dealing with "society" you have to understand the mechanisms that lead to corruption....
prison labor is an incentive for corruption.... it needs to be done away with

Like american cops and lawyers dont frame and railroad innocent people en masse???:sas2: so everyone is guilty huh???
A few percent, sure. That’s not enough for me to care about home invaders and armed robbers who might have to do some grunt work as part of their sentence.

its not the actual criminals that get caught is the problem there's ton of people in prison that doesnt belong there... :francis:
Violent criminals being let out early, or flat not prosecuted while someone selling a few pounds of weed by a school in 1999 is still in the pen is another issue entirely

of course but people dont even realize that there's plenty of people that are literally framed because prisons are for profit... :francis: why you think they so gung ho to lock up black folks at all costs???

Or, it just needs to be further regulated.

Require companies that use prison labor for cons serving x time to hire prisonee when they are released.

If a prison gets a contract for labor then there should be a cap and or they should be barred from contributing to campaigns

Make it illegal for politicians to make decisions that benefit companies that use prison labor and lobby politicians

More visibility to see what companies are donating to politicians

Limit how much money a corporation thats uses prison labor can make

Watchdog groups. People can make careers riding some corporations ass.

There's ways.
