the reason medi-cal can offer all of that now. Is because private insurers run the program. California is the shining example of the private industry taking over Medicaid and it drastically improving.
The state of California pays the private insurance industry. What are you talking about?
:gucci:

Medi-cal keeps healthcare affordable and the state of California is in a much better position to negotiate prices with the industry than the average joe. That's what universal healthcare is breh, we pay the government with taxes and then they negotiate prices with the insurers.

You dont even understand what you're arguing against.

Kind of. Insurers just do it cheaper than the government.

California ran their Medicaid system but costs were rising very quickly. A health insurer said they could do it cheaper, they tried it out for a small piece of medicaid. They did it cheaper, then the government just outsourced Medicaid administration to health plans almost entirely. The insurance plans did it cheaper and added more hospitals for people to go to

So if the government takes over Medicaid again, costs will rise and taxes will go up and benefits will go down. That’s just bc they’re not as good at it. And this is in the largest state in America.

other states followed suit to save money as well.
:ehh: sounds like the dutch system. We should do that for everyone. tax money traded for free at point of use healthcare. Sounds great to me. I don't care who runs it as long as people get to show up at the hospital/doctor and not pay, and people don't have to navigate in and out of network nonsense

The Netherlands has universal health insurance — and it’s all private

edit: Medi-Cal 4 all! :pachaha:

Nobody has said otherwise

:mjtf:

ARE YOU DRUNK BREH???

No medicare for all gets rid of this entirely. Goes back to being government ran and costs will skyrocket bc they’re shytty at doing it.

There's no proof that private healthcare is always better run than public. California might have been less efficient at it but there are multiple, successful public healthcare operations, just as there are multiple successful private healthcare operations. This is why the Australian model is the best because you get both : Two sisters. Two different journeys through Australia’s health care system.

Nobody said universal healthcare solves all the problems.

:gucci:

You have literally built up a strawman argument to debate against. You created this thread to show the inefficiency of universal healthcare, people pointed out that private insurance has the same problems. Now you're arguing against points nobody made.

Log off breh, you need a break.

damn. Why didnt he go to the public hospital
maybe it was significantly farther from him than this one. or maybe he didnt understand the distinction. after all hes just a teenager, he might have not had prior experience interacting with the medical field without guardians.

these are just guesses though, we'll never know now because hes dead.
