Ariel works in the free press. UFC wants to promote the sport, well that means the sport has to have media coverage.

Can't believe some of you are bytching about what he did. He didn't do anything wrong. Dana hates Ariel and he just used this as a reason to get at him.

How are you in your prime and get Ko'd by bisping though :why: thought ppl said Anderson dominated a weak division? Seems no one can sustain a legitimate reign for shyt

the division was weak while Anderson was champ compared to now , Chael Sonnen, Stephan Bonnar, cats like that. I'm not taking anything away from Silva because the way he DOMINATED the division and the WAY he finished the fights, the way he moved, the things he did in the cage like the front kick etc

he didn't leak something obvious like Jones/DC he leaked what was obviously one of the biggest if not THE biggest story/fight the UFC has ever kept under wraps. i'm not on twitter and all that 24/& but i heard NOTHING about this happening i didn't even hear a rumor about him coming back, i thought it was decided months ago if not a year or more that he wanted more money and he decided to go with WWE for financial reasons as well as the diverticulitis thing. i don't know who he is going to face Arlovski? surely he cna't come straight back in and face someone like Werdum i think it's probably going to be Mark Hunt or Arlovski or JDS? someone like that maybe

This was easily one of the best events of the year, cliff's notes for the whole show -

- The first big notable performance is Alex Caceres. That kid has steadily improved for a long time and if you're not elite, you won't beat him. The combinations and diversity of strikes he threw last night was incredible, multiple attacks at all three levels in a single clip. He got outgrappled at times, but his ability to survive with a true black belt and beast submission fighter was impressive too.

- Jessica Andrade has been a solid 135 lbs. fighter for a while. She looked like a top 5 title contender at 115, but Penne might be suffering the lingering effects of the JJ beatdown so I'll wait for her next opponent.

- Brian Ortega is the truth. I thought he won rounds 2 and 3 but the corner said he's gotta get the KO and he delivered. His stand-up is really good and he's one of the best BJJ players in his division. He's a future star and should get a serious opponent next shot.

- Bobby Green looked rusty; Poirier looks like a new animal at 155 but only the Duffy win doesn't have an asterisk next to it so far for me. It's time for a top 10 test for him.

- Hendo hopefully retires. Great comeback for him, but he still looks cooked to me. Lombard looks like a guy USADA has taken out tbh, body didn't look the same after a long suspension.

- Max Holloway folks, if you're still sleeping on him I don't know what to say. The list of fighters he took out since Conor beat him is insane and he needs to get the winner of Jose/Frankie.

- Cruz did what he was supposed to. Faber was gettin' hurt by Franky Saenz for a bit last fight out. It's a point style even when he's landing power shots, just not much finishing fear when he can knock a guy down repeatedly but never land the significant ground strikes. I don't think he wants it with Cody or a rematch with TJ; that's not to mention if DJ comes up there. John Dodson is a really interesting opponent too, he KO'ed TJ and dropped DJ repeatedly; size would be an issue though.

- Bisping looked great. He shortened the distance and stood in the pocket which really limited the head kicks from Luke and those head kicks were really the only game changing strikes in the last one. Staying in the pocket and catching a lazy retreat was enough for a vet. 17 days notice and this guy shocks the world after an incredible career. I'm really happy for Bisping, but I also think Jacare has a formula that will win the belt.

- Rockhold had the audacity to say Anderson is not has his level and never has been...then he lost to a short notice opponent who many didn't think belonged in the octagon. These cats need to learn that winning the title is one thing, but keeping it is another animal. Anderson held the belt for 7 years and ran through entire generations of contenders. Both Rockhold and Weidman needed some damned humble pie. Watching the title dance from hand to hand really helps to instill just how great Anderson was, number two all time for me. Jones is GOAT status.

- Finally, Brock Lesnar's return isn't the most exciting thing to me. He was a one dimensional fighter last time out in a weak division, but it's a much deeper division now. I'd second guess him against Derrick Lewis or Mark Hunt, let alone the contenders. But in terms of drawing power and excitement...there's no one like him and Fedor was talking UFC lately. That's potentially the biggest fight in history.

I'm starting to like Bisping after hating him for so many years. shyt when was TUF 3 probably 10 or so years ago I couldnt stand the guy. Watching Hendo knock him out is one of my favorite moments in UFC history.

But along comes this smug jerk off Rockhold and makes me start rooting for Bisping and now i gotta say ive become a fan. So happy to see Rockhold taste that humble pie. Cant wait for Cormier to lose AKA is easily the most unlikeable camp by a long shot.

Romero would smash Bisping pretty badly in my opinion cant wait for him to get back in the mix of things.

its cuz rockhold got hit wit a punch he didn't see comin. he admitted that in the post fight wit rogan.

people say that the division was weak when anderson was reigning champ just like they say mayweather fought cans his entire career.
So when mayweather actually gets beat (which will never happen) they will say finally mayweather fought somebody good. enough said on that

was never a fan of bisping but he was lucky his first title shot was against some cocky b*stard. and so he def deserves the belt for taking advantage of this opportunity after 10 + years in the UFC.

Anyone calling for an immediate rematch is an idiot. Rockhold got caught, not by some spectacular misfortune but because of his own ineptitude and because he's a fukkin douchebag idiot. He couldn't even defend the title once. If Bisping goes up against Souza or Weidman and gets slept are you going to call for a rematch? I doubt it. A rematch is called for when there's an all out war Lawler/McDonald style or When it's a crazy finish like Sonnen/Silva 1 but when someone gets dominated or straight up KOd Because of his own stupidity then there's no need. There's plenty of fighters at MW who deserve a shot more than Rockhold

(1) You can get KOd by any professional on any given night...KOs have a lot to with strike placement...

(2) The division changed after Chael Sonnen showed fighters you have to be an aggressive wrestler when fighting Silva...Weidman put Silva to sleep and then broke him apart...

It is a very competitive division...

(3) I think it is a good thing for the belt to exchange hands on any given weekend...It shows that the margin of error is very slim, and you have to be on your "A" game or you are going to sleep...

To me, Lombard has fought and looked the same since coming back from suspension. He fought a huge welterweight with cardio(Magny) and a naturally bigger middleweight who has the power to knock out heavyweights(Hendo). He had both Neil and Dan in a bad place...but they're tough guys who could stand up to HL's bully game. He also was taking Dan down at will...and a lot of yall know I don't think much of Judo in MMA, especially when a judoka is going up against a legit wrestler.

Lombard, PEDS or not, is a good fighter....but he's not a great fighter. If he can't bully you, he's probably gonna lose. He was on that stuff when he fought Burkman(a lesser fighter than Neil and Dan) and I thought he looked worse in that win than he did in these 2 losses.

I'm starting to wonder exactly how much PEDs really help...but I'll never be OK with them.

Bisping...I dunno...I could see him getting washed by Jacare, Romero and Anderson...and I could see him beating those 3 "easily", too. Jacare, Spider and Romero have chins just as touchable as Luke's...and Jacare and Romero could gas out if Bisping fights like we know he can. Bisping isn't gonna gas and he's hard to submit. His hands are cleaner that Jacare and Romero's. Luke's already lost to him twice. I think Weidman is Bisping's toughest fight.

A T.J. throwing leg kicks from the 1st round is Dominic's toughest fight...Garbrandt's too loopy with his hands and he's too green to be fighting the G.O.A.T. Bantam. D.J. is interesting at 130 but I don't think he's improved enough to overcome Dom's size advantage at 135. Dodson would get wrestled out of his mind against Dom. His striking/timing could give Dom fits like Uriah did in the 2nd fight, though.

Small pet peeve of mine about the ufc what is it with both causal and hardcore fans and this "the greatest" thing :mjlol: seems like every event there is a new greatest (enter weight class) fighter of all time lol or greatest match of all time

:mjlol: Joe Rogan especially kills me when he does that on his podcast, although he has kept it consistent that Anderson is the overall goat
