you do not beat this
I agree and I love Jay. All 5 have different sounds and themes. Even 808 and heartbreaks which is to me the weakest out the 5, ushered in a new sound that took over the game

Outside of maybe Kendrick maybe. No other artist comes close to a run like this

I’ll say is WTT is not a classic.
How is this album not classic :skip:

It was one of those albums that was inescapable and got run top to bottom straight classic from Otis to The Joy.

Two of the biggest icons in hip-hop history on one album. Commercial success, critically acclaimed.

:dead:

Young people don't give a fukk about either of these guys.

People think Gen Z wearing Yeezys = they're a fan of his music but Gen Z also wears Jordans and only know him from memes.

I don't know a single Gen Z that has ever bumped Kanye West or Jay-Z. The oldest rappers they fukk with are Drake, Cole, Kendrick....shyt from that era.

Aside from a handful of random Pac or BIG or BONE songs.

Fred.
You’re incorrect. :mjlol:

Life of Pablo and Kids See Ghosts were huge with Gen Z and the younger millennials it’s music as well as his sneakers and fashion. He’s a transcendent, iconic, A-list mega-celebrity.

How does GRODT lack quality? 80-90% of those songs were great and well produced.
They can’t name a wack song on GRODT but the knock is always it lacks quality tf they be parroting?

I be noticing that shyt on here one person says something and it becomes gospel over the years BP start getting knocked lyrically on here and now it’s a full fledged narrative.

GRoDT is definitely a classic. Impact was inevitable but the project itself is full of music that are classic hip hop records
I dunno about that. It wasn't a masterpiece when it came out and certainly not now. I was a massive 50 stan at the time and I skiped a bunch of tracks then.

I skipped "blood hound", "P.I.M.P," "like my style", and "poor lil rich".

So that leaves

What Up Gangsta
Patiently Waiting
Many Men
In Da Club
High All The Time
If I Can’t
21 Questions
Don’t Push Me
Wanksta

And I’m leaving out another 3 tracks I’m not crazy about and it’s still a classic. Wtf are you talking about it’s not a masterpiece. We’re talking about 50 Cent, not Stevie Wonder or Prince in his prime. This album is a certified classic and you don’t have an argument that holds any real weight against it. The 4 tracks you didn’t like were also album highlights.

Its a really good album but its not a masterpiece. Too many skips. The only song thats classic level amazing is many men. Stillmatic is an example of an album with skips but the absolutely amazing songs make up for it. And even Stillmatic is a debatable masterpiece cause of that. Im not dissing the album. That ish didn't leave my cd player in 11 grade. I loved it. Think about albums you would call quality classics and ask yourself if GRODT can stand to them. It can't. The impact however is another level.

A masterpiece and a classic are two different things. There are very few albums, including undisputed classics that are actually masterpieces to me. That’s an entirely different category with totally different qualifications in quality, musicality ect.

Out of 10 classics, maybe one is an actual masterpiece. Out of all of Jay’s albums he doesn’t have a masterpiece level album. Kanye has one with MBDTF. Most rappers have none. Most legends only have one.
