I never thought about this but I think Ye has more classic albums than Jay.

:ohhh:

Though I think Jay is a better overall rapper.

You have to also consider thats Jay’s biggest songs are songs that Ye had a hand in and not the other way around..

It really depends on the definition of classic. Theres an "impact classic" that does not have 10/10 quality but crazy impact. GRODT would fit in that criteria for example.
How does GRODT lack quality? 80-90% of those songs were great and well produced.

I also don't think AG is an actual "Jay-Z" classic. It was a great project that was tied to a great movie. If it was a release on it's own, then it could be a standalone Jay project, but the fact it was paired with a film makes it something else. It's almost as if it's an unofficial soundtrack even though it's not. Don't get me wrong, AG has some of my favorite songs by Jay, however, when I think about where it fits in his collection, it's always other.

I don't think you can really put it up by itself. There were different influences motivating the anticipation and success of AG. There's nothing wrong with it creatively. It is some of his best work...but I don't think it's fair to include it in this discussion against Kanye. That's just my opinion tho.

I wasn't even gonna say anything. But yeah....

What's funny is "YEEZUS" came out in 2013....this site was up 2012. So you can pull up the threads when the album came out. Most people thought that album was trash. :mjlol:

:mjlol:

If you want to do a perma-ban bet let me know. I interact with Gen Z, black Gen Z on a regular basis due to where I am.

I'll do a Barbara Walters style interview with them and post it. Again, they don't give a fukk about Kanye.

If you're talking about other races or Jews, I don't know about all that.

Fred.

lowkey that album was flames. classic no. but it was so left field MFers had to call it trash.

I didn't say it wasn't quality. Its just not classic quality. The impact is insane though. Its without question a classic album because of its unbelievable impact.

GRoDT is definitely a classic. Impact was inevitable but the project itself is full of music that are classic hip hop records

The past 20 or so years of rap music resembles one guy wayyyyy more than one

Sorry bud

I can’t argue anything else with logic. Then to make matters worse what is the overall impact on the sound of music? BP is the only case and that’s tough to argue for obvious reasons
