Reading this just made me have a weird thought.
What if Lucy didn't give up her kid for money? Maybe she was somehow responsible for getting Isabel's kid killed in an accident a couple of years earlier, and they pressured her into giving up her own kid as part of some kind of "eye for an eye" thing. So she thinks she can give up her daughter, then just take the son an leave town with her cousin.

I bet the "Children should laugh" line was something that Isabel told her. She said she could give her daughter a better home where she would grow up happy and laughing.

How long is the finale gonna be? I'm gonna need at least 90 mins.

Also not to be on some fanboy fantasy casting shyt, but I wonder if future seasons will have a Cohle/Hart and Hays/West teamup. I say this mostly cuz McConaughey said he wants to come back at some point in interviews. But it would be them as old man detectives, so maybe not lol.

How else would Hoyt know about the Harris murder not even 12 hours after it occurred?

Look at how Harris was looking at Roland shortly before he was murdered. They didn't show that for no reason.

After re-watching the scene, Roland was giving him a murderous look because at that point he was convinced Harris was part of a pedophile ring. Harris was giving him that look back because he realized that he probably wasn't going to get out of this alive unless he shot his way out.

You didn't like Sharp Objects breh? Damn I'm sorry to hear that, that was my True Detective S2 last summer.

I liked it at first but as each episode went on it just felt like the same thing over and over again. The style went from unique to overbearing real quick, with almost every scene having her seeing flashbacks. The flashbacks Hays has are done in such a more artful, measured way, and not suffocating the story.

Also Gillian Flynn annoys me with her ridiculous ass twists in every story she writes.

Yeah, I guess that is all it was. From the porch scene, and Roland isolating himself - just assumed there was even more to follow with the Hoyt car scene.
