Spoiler: Possible Theory

Seems like Hoyt got the drop on Harris from either Roland or some sort of tracking on Harris' car. Seeing as Harris served his purpose, Hoyt isn't too keen on moving forward on prosecuting so long Hayes and Roland play ball and keep quiet on the case.

Hayes, in his dementia at a later date, may have forgotten about the deal and blown the whistle on Hoyt. After the blown whistle Hoyt gets the goons to murk Amelia (we still don't know how she passed IIRC).

I feel like the man with one eye may have been the "muscle" to get things done.

Seems like Hoyt may have tried to kidnap the Purcells and take them on as their own. Hence Julie saying "the man acting like my father" in reference to Tom.

I hope next week episode is like 90 mins. This season has been piff. 9/10.

Netflix might be the hot hand in the game, but HBO still knows how to crank out top line TV.

I could be wrong but I predict amelia dies in the 90s based on what I noted above...old hayes having the pic of the kids trick or treating that she promised to return the next day...only 2 possible ways I can see her not returning the photo...it’s possible they may have left town immediately once hayes returned from talking to hoyt or maybe the chic who she borrowed the photo from was killed...idk I get the sense the wife was killed @ that time tho...would also explain why the second book wasn’t finished and also why she wasn’t there to drop the daughter off to college...granted that was further down the road..damn is it sunday yet? can’t wait lol

Netflix is quantity over quality & while that means you'll always have something to watch, 7 out of 10 times it'll be bullshyt.

HBO has always been about quality (obviously they've had their missteps but their record speaks for itself)

agreed...no TV/streaming network shows compare to the overall quality of HBO shows...I know that’s just an opinion...damn near feels like facts tho...there’s a level of characterization HBO shows have that’s unparalleled imo

It's like you cut your teeth with Netflix and Hulu but make a name for yourself on HBO.

I think Netflix's model is to be the risk taker in Hollywood in an era of remakes, sequels and reboots.

But it wasn't too long ago Netflix was hitting heavy with the likes of House of Cards and OITNB.

ya netflix was up there for a hot minute...but I think they’re definitely suffering from quantity over quality...granted they’re still learning the ropes so there’s lots of room for growth...they have an original movie up for an oscar nomination which is HUGE

wow...just watched the last ep...I’m guessing they will explore how the wife died/was killed...I noticed old hayes had the photo she promised to return to the fat chic the next day in the 90s flashback...doubt she died of natural causes so young so my guess is she was murdered jumped in the thread late...curious to read comments re: the last ep tho
