Also what's wrong with Will saying his family is an Entertainment family/business. So where the Jacksons. We've have Entertainment families before. from what i've seen which is admittedly not much Jaden to me is like Vin Diesel. his acting is acceptable if you construct a role specifically tailored for him to play the character he plays.

a lot of actors are like that though. they play the same character with a different name and backstory but all their characters have the same core personality and whatnot.

I KNEW YOU would say that but how did Will Smith get on in that movie. He needed a lucky break handout from a cac. After earth is just him and his son relying on one another. He was already the man in that movie and not some scrub looking for a hand out.

He wasn't looking for a handout.

He wanted a career. Put everything on the line (including his son's wellbeing) and worked hard as fukk for it until they couldn't deny him the opportunity.

Nobody is. That's not the point of being a critic. Critics give opinions based on various factors.

I hope Denzel's daughter who I read/heard somewhere is an aspiring actress (dunno whether its stage or film) also gets to use her father's celebrity to get movie roles too, just like Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz's daughter

And if Jamie Foxx's daughter has similar aspirations (i have no idea, just saying), then I hope she can benefit from her father as well

I want to see all these up and coming black actors/actresses be successful and take on empowering and heroic lead roles, and its hard enough for the michael b jordans and john boyegas of the world to get opportunities given the racist political bullshyt in what is still currently a predominantly white owned industry, so i'm glad that those who did/do break through and make it big can give their kids much easier paths to travel towards success.

It doesn't solve the bigger issue of Hollywood's bullshyt when it comes to black opportunity at large but its a side stepping tactic that i dont mind (and that is nothing new to the industry as a concept, or probably to any industry in a sense).

"After Earth" is their first bad movie together and people are saying "they need to stop this annoying trend of starring with each other!" and "Will needs to stop pushing his kid to the spotlight!"

Like wtf Karate Kid wasnt bad and Pursuit of Happiness wasn't either, so where is this hate coming from?

Bandwagon? I called that this movie would flop months ago. Mainly to it looking horrible but also because middle America doesn't care for nepotism.
