That's been a problem for a decade now. Will is 44 and Denzel is nearing 60. Their box office drawing days are nearing their end.

All we got is Tyler , some rappers/actors , and bunch of talented character actors (Nate Parker, Anthony Mackie, Rob Brown, Michael B. Jordan).

If there's justice, Jordan should be the next star.

Spike Lee's sis was grown when she was in She's Gotta Have It. And it was a minor role so no one cared.

She also was in School Daze Mo Better Blues and Do the Right Thing. I don't know if she went to school or whatnot but she also wrote Crooklyn too. Jaden may be getting pushed to the moon to soon but this is an everyday occurrence on Hollywood.

there are not many actors who can bring in 200-400 mil in revenues every movie like a will or denzel. its a very exclusive club

If you don't like Jaden Smith then don't watch the movies he's in. No one's watching After Earth for a fine acting performance. Y'all should know which films take seriously and which ones not to. the karate kid was trite and a bit corny but not bad...i doubt it couldve been better considering it was rated pg and borrowed from an older movie with the exact same title...

Angelina Jolie (Dad is John Voight)
Michael Douglas (Dad is Kirk Douglas)
Keefer Sutherland (Dad is Donald Sutherland)

All of these people got in from family connections and went on to have pretty good careers. Why can't Jaden? So what is the problem? Nepotisim can only be a white thing? Will and Jada both come from middle class black families, they didn't have silver spoons. They both worked hard to be where they are at. So both of their kids are artist. I mean both Will and Jada are artist themselves that's not a shock. I think the Jaden hate is ridiculous. Just cause he's Will son won't make him a Blockbuster Actor or Platinum Rapper. He has to do that on his own. Will got him in the door but he has to stay in the door. "After Earth" was like a metaphor of Will letting Jaden go in the industry. Give the kid 10 years. He could be an action star in his 20's.

I KNEW YOU would say that but how did Will Smith get on in that movie. He needed a lucky break handout from a cac. After earth is just him and his son relying on one another. He was already the man in that movie and not some scrub looking for a hand out.

Paul Newman put his kid in the Towering Inferno, which was kind of a blockbuster back in 1974.

Again, I don't think the problem is Will putting Jaden on. He got Jaden the Karate Kid and Pursuit and no one had a problem with that. He threw his son into the fire in AE by making him act by himself for a majority of the film and the film, among other things, suffers for it.

Also, the Oscars don't like Sci-Fi/action flicks. Critics like them just fine. Star Trek into Darkness is 87% on the Tomatometer. Fast Six is 72%. Looper was 93% and hailed by many as one of the best movies of 2012.
