This Will Smith+Jaden Hate is ridiculous.

Was it "cac cism" when Pursuit of Happyness was lauded by critics AND making bank? No.

Movie just sucks, and Will should've never let his son act by himself for 80% of a feature film. That shyt is too difficult for a 14 year old.

I haven't seen A.E. yet so I can't speak on it, but Pursuit of Happyness was a good film as was Karate Kid. The Day the Earth stood still was kinda shytty.


Jaden Smith to date has been in four film and he's only been the star of two of those films.

Yall acting like he releasing a shytty movie ever year when that's not the case.

If I ever catch Fast 6 on Netflix or what have you, it will be because of Michelle Rodriguez and Gina Carano, because they are attractive. I don't give a shyt about the male leads, none of them are even credible actors.

basically...movies are a relatively cheap thrill...seeing a cool lookn gun..or some beautiful people..or a monster..or some comedic foolishness is what movies have to offer...hollywood knows it too...

See this is what I don't understand what makes him annoying? I don't even see the kid enough to be annoyed or for him to do anything to annoy me.

My reasoning for finding him annoying might not mean much to you. Different views, different taste, different pet peeves, etc.

Basically, everything that I've seen him in he's always been the worst part of the movie. Poor acting, lack of charisma, whatever it is my mind automatically goes to him being some kind of lame. The dumb facial expressions he makes outside of movies doesn't help either. Neither did the recent interview where Will danced with Alfonso doing classic Fresh Prince shyt.

He always has time to get better acting wise and what-not, but right now he's just one of many individuals that make me lose interest in whatever they're a part of.

Spike Lee put his sister in multiple movies of his and no one ever said a thing. But I guess cuz Will got Jaden starring in movies it's a big deal. But a lot of famous families do stuff like this and Will got the paper and the resources to be able to put his son on. So he just playing the same game others are playing too.

I think you're going the wrong way with this. Will himself certainly isnt hated. Denzel isnt hated. Its intellectually lazy to say that because someone isnt liked its automatically because people are jealous. Thats the 1% answer for everything that people reject.

Concerning Jaden, its easy to see why he is disliked. Will is doing way more that "putting him on", he is shoving him in the public's face in ways that far exceeds his son's talent. Putting him on would be to put him in smaller roles to allow his son to develop his talent, and to also develop a fan following. Putting Jaden in starring roles in big budget features as a 14 year old, and making it clear he is only there because of who his daddy is, is a recipe for disaster and thats already materializing. I thought Will was more savvy than this.

And the quickest way to get the public to hate you is through over-exposure, and Jaden is being severely overexposed. Every where I look, there he is. If Jaden isnt rapping, then hes being interviewed. If he isnt being interviewed, then he's dancing on a show. If he isnt dancing on a show, then hes starring in blockbuster movies. Hes creating a natural backlash for Jaden, and its not like Jaden is this awesome talent. Will is being a stage dad here.

Will wanted to create the black justin beiber. Not only did the fans not take to this (white girls want lil blonde boys as sex symbols, and black girls dont identify with him), but they clearly just dont like him that much. Will keeps pushing harder, rather than having Jaden fall back. Hes killing his kid's career, and you guys keep talking about this "kaks have done it too", but I cant remember an example of a famous father pushing his kid so hard into the limelight, with such poor results. Will is dead wrong.

and what poor results are you talking about? this movie will do well, most will smith sci fi action movies do great. i think its a little too much too early for jaden but hey its will's decesion. lets be real, most famous offspring of actors in hollywood end up doing nothing in life. jaden seems motivated to be a star

I guess I can't tell people what to or no to be annoyed by. However, this sounds a little like hate imo.


If you don't like him as actor because you you think he isn't any good(which I don't necessarily agree) I understand.

Yup, people stay talking about the Kardashins but their TV shows get great ratings.

I remember lots of people used to hate on Diddy when he was going triple platinum on the regular.

Michael Bay is one of the most hated directors of all time but damn if his movies don't always turn out to be box office hits.



What we commonly refer to as hate is really just jealousy when you think about it. The accomplishments of others makes a lot of people insecure so the best coping mechanism is disparage that which makes them feel inferior.

"After Earth" is their first bad movie together and people are saying "they need to stop this annoying trend of starring with each other!" and "Will needs to stop pushing his kid to the spotlight!"

Like wtf Karate Kid wasnt bad and Pursuit of Happiness wasn't either, so where is this hate coming from?

And Pursuit was ok/good, not great, so their track record of successes so far is only really one film.
