Who knows man lol. I’m an older dude working with multi gens at this point. These fools be screwing each other over
I work with multi gens as well and it’s a free for all. People not returning favors, being late on their shyt, but still expecting you to keep the same timeline and always trying to escalate shyt when it’s their lateness and fukk up that threw the timeline off :mjlol:

That’s why I don’t blame people for not wanting to stay late and doing their 9-5 and going home after :yeshrug:

Millennials paved the way. I'm 33 and have absolutely told supervisors/managers the exact same shyt.
I was about to say…when I was younger and first starting out, sure, I’d hang a little longer if it was busy, but I learned.

At this point everyone’s all happy and cheery with me until they realize what time it is. They can tell I’m leaving in 10-15 because all my paperwork is wrapped up and I’m walking out to change for the gym and leave, while they’re talking about stupid shyt like the day isn’t over. I fell out of the habit for a while but naw, I’m out the door right on time unless there is a true emergency.

This is cool when it’s some McDonald’s job or something. Pull that in a career and see what happens. You take all those “mental” and pto days and then you have to start negotiating with those co workers that you screwed over before. shyt ain’t gonna go how you think. Do what you want at these jobs, that’s cool.. you better think about those folks who end up picking up your slack though
This

At a real career job gen-z is working unpaid over time like the rest of us. But that’s what bonuses are for

What bonuses as a lot of companies don’t give those out or are selective when they do.
I’m talking real career jobs

Banking
Law
Tech
Sales
Engineering etc

You working over time if you have to and often unless your team hates you it will reflect in your bonus at the end if the yr to a degree

I’ve literally received 6 figure bonus checks before

I know what you're talking about as I work in that type of field and what I'm telling you is that a lot of careers in those fields that you mentioned aren't getting overtime or bonuses like that unless you're in the leadership level positions or eligible for those incentive plans.

Every company and career job isn't built the same.

Sounds like salary work which if it is kudos for that person for walking out. I had one of my guys trying that a month ago. I needed him to stay for the OT and I was going to shift his hrs the next day for the crew rules of course he tried to flex but once I sat him down and pulled out that rulebook that showed how I can do it he settled down real quick. All that talk about unfairness quickly went out the window once the words insubordination gets mentioned lol

WFH is the cure for that. No one wants to spend more time awake in a 24 hour cycle at work, over home. The workforce is changing. People are changing.

True. There are limits to bucking the system if you plan on elevating within it. But overall, I think the willingness of what seems to be the majority (anecdotal of course) of Gen Z to call out bullshyt is going to have good effects on the system.
It will have good benefits if the stuff their calling out is beneficial. Most of the stuff they complain about usually is for selfish or self serving reasons. Like they feel that seniority isn't fair or that their schedule doesn't help their social life. Or they want holidays off but they still want the holiday pay. I tell them all the time they're more than welcome to quit if it's so unfair. But none have taken that offer lol

Facts it's a few people I know that have walked outta multiple salaried jobs in a year when the market was desperate for people at the slightest inconvenience. Now that hiring has slowed its getting spooky out here on the job search. It's a chic that was made that one of jobs she applied to didn't pick her up because they called her previous job and HR told them that she walked out on them. She thought it was unfair that they did her like that.... :mjlol:

My Wife is 37 and told her managers the same while working for Chase. They told everybody you have mandatory overtime for the next 6 months. My Wife hit them with the
:usure:
I got somewhere I have to be after 5pm.
:martin:
She was the second best producer. They didn’t fire her.
:mjlol:
Everybody was mad when she left work at 5 everyday.
:scust:
Key word is she's the 2nd best producer. She has the leverage to do that because she's an asset to the company. The problem is that the newer people will be the 40th best producer but want the same perks as #2... It don't work like that lol

It's all cool and dandy until you gotta hire one of them little nikkas

I hired 4 gen Z employees over the summer for temp work . 3 guys , one gal.

Worst workers ever, always late, did the bare minimum, had entitled attitudes. Only one guy I would hire again.
