Millennials paved the way. I'm 33 and have absolutely told supervisors/managers the exact same shyt.
I was about to say... I've done this plenty of times when I worked at Target. I was young and usually had shyt to do after work so I wasn't about to stay for shyt

True. There are limits to bucking the system if you plan on elevating within it. But overall, I think the willingness of what seems to be the majority (anecdotal of course) of Gen Z to call out bullshyt is going to have good effects on the system.
100

And let's keep it real, nggas entire work history was built on a foundation of lies. Requiring someone to have references for an 'entry level' position is just a tacit acknowledgement that the applicant is likely to just call his already working friends and ask them to bullshyt on the phone for a few minutes.

We not really about to act like America didn't elect a man with ZERO political experience who just lied about everything to its most prestigious office. When you can bullshyt your way into the white house, why WOULDNT you bullshyt your way to a crappy customer service job.

This is a generation of adults who has watched the facade fall apart in real time during their most formative years. They know the bullshyt when they see it, and they've grown up in the age of the online mob forcing people to be accountable when our joke of a media and justice system won't. Injustice goes viral FAST and these boomers and defeated gen X are very slowly starting to figure out that it's not worth it to press these young adults.

Unless the guy was an ass hole I prolly would’ve stayed. Never know when you need ppl to look out for you
This sounds good in theory but the problem is the workforce is full of people that keep looking out for managers and CEOs, and the favor is never returned. These are the things people leave out when they talk about how bad everything has degraded

Nikkas do all the overtime and miss holidays with family and deal with a$$holes etc but then when those same nikkas ask for raises or promotions and can barely survive with the job the gaslighting and juelzing comes out. There's only so much of that people are gonna take before they say "Nikka fukk you and this job"

This is now happening on a large scale

Manager: Sarah, we’re swamped I need you to stay until this rush is over

Sarah: My schedule says 9-3, and I will be leaving at 3 on the dot.:beli:

Manager: I understand what the schedule says but if you're still needed then you have to stay. That's just the job

Sarah: I don't have to do anything you're not God you're just my manager. The schedule says 3, at 3 I'm leaving and that's that.:comeon:

I decided to wait in the parking lot an extra couple of minutes to see how this played out and sure enough at 3 this chick walked smooth out of that bytch and it was PUMPING.:russ:

Millennials would've begrudgingly worked until the rush was over.
The sass wasn’t necessary, but I don’t blame her. I’m a millennial and I leave at 5, no exceptions

My Wife is 37 and told her managers the same while working for Chase. They told everybody you have mandatory overtime for the next 6 months. My Wife hit them with the

This is cool when it’s some McDonald’s job or something. Pull that in a career and see what happens. You take all those “mental” and pto days and then you have to start negotiating with those co workers that you screwed over before. shyt ain’t gonna go how you think. Do what you want at these jobs, that’s cool.. you better think about those folks who end up picking up your slack though
I’m 40 and been in “career” positions since I was 23. I’m talking about positions for financial institutions with salaries ranges above 100k

I’m out the door at 6pm no matter what is going on. MFs know that. They also know I’m on time every day and am a model citizen as far as attendance is concerned. I’m always first in line for advancement.

You DO NOT have to be pressured by these people for anything. If your production high and your on point, you can “stand on business”.

When you living at your parents house and don’t have bills to pay it be like that.
I do that shyt and I’m working adult living in my own.

I come in early, so I don’t have to stay late. If you send something at the end of the day, I’m not working late just to do it. If you do it once, that creates the expectations that you’ll do it again and it becomes a habit.

They can’t force you to do anything that’s 100% truth. I ain’t mad at leaving right at the end of your shift, that’s your right. I’m saying co workers who actually get screwed in those situations remember stuff like that and will get you back somehow. I won’t lie, I was on that stay later because we are swamped shyt mainly because I wanted that OT… I’d still be pissed though because i got screwed by a person who moreso called out or left early or something like that. Luckily I’m at the point in my career where I can do that when I want to now… it’s called paying dues. Some managers are just a$$holes who try to flex their little power as much as they can, you just have to deal with them however you can. But what I’m ultimately saying is somebody at work is going to pick up that extra slack if they want to or not and they’ll remember what you did.

Just shows me the manager is a dikkhead because if she respected his leadership, she probably would’ve stayed.

You mean those same co-workers who probably wouldn’t return the favor if the situation was switched?
