Societies' threshold for giving a fukk about pro social behaviors and maintaining said society is directly tied to the incentives that society offers
When you stop paying people, or weren't paying them for so long that they're used to prolonged poverty, the behavior is going to reflect it.
This applies to everything, be it crime rates, manners, mass shootings, hip hop, military enlistment, you name it
That said, you're wrong about millennials but it's an easy mistake to make because that's where a lot of societal norms started to break down because millennials started paying for the lies that were told to them
Mind you this past decade of protests and calling out authority was started by millennials. Ferguson was millennials. George Floyd? Millennials
