Everything except the last 15 minutes is :wow:

Goodman is so good in this...his deadpan humor was so good that you are really not even sure if it was meant to be humor :wow:

The last 15 minutes though...eh...I guess they had nowhere else to go...

A few out of character experiences but that always happens with movies like this...it also bothered me that he told her to flip the switch on off on...but then she flipped it on off on off and it worked...does anybody even edit movies anymore :stopitslime:

Good movie, Goodman was great but...
its NOT a Cloverfield sequel. It could have happened during the time of the og movie but she's in the South, not NY and its a totally different monster/alien. The monster/aliens are closer to the ones in the Tom Cruise "War of the Worlds" movie. Perhaps the monster in the og could have been just one of many monsters that the boss alieans have in the bull pen but the producers probably didn't even think about the og when this movie was being made. Goodman said on H. Stern that they filmed this 1.5 years ago. JJ's company probably scooped it up and had the actress filmed that last 15 minutes over to sort of relate it to Cloverfield. JJ saw it and though to himself, this is what i would have probably done with a sequel anyway:jbhmm:
It did set up nicely for a sequel i wouldn't mind seeing:ehh:

Really fukked with it. Very suspenseful, Goodman is fire throughout and it's got a nice little twist. As JJ said, it's not a cloverfield sequel so don't go in thinking it is. It's very different but just as weird and supplies the same amount of answers. If he can crank out more sci fi like this every few years under the cloverfield banner, count me in. This is what they should be doing with the twilight zone property in film: release a new movie very 2 years with a different creative team telling different stories. The possibilities are endless but apparently, JJ figured it out first

Goodman has been racking in the roles as of late. Thaton hiatus did him some good.

Other than Goodman character. We could have done without the other two. They fell flat for me.

Movie was just ok for me.

Really liked it but even after all these JJ quotes I still dont understand if this is supposed to be in the same universe as Cloverfield. Is the end supposed to be tied to the monster in NYC?

If so, they really went somewhere with the Cloverfield monster mythology I didnt expect

But if this shyt is completely 100% unrelated and not in the same universe, then fukk JJ for this scam.
