Its not just about the IP. Look at Avengers, it had the biggest super heroes at the time in a game and flopped. Those Activision Spider-Man games were straight up bargain bin releases a week after dropping.
You still need to make a good game at the end of the day, Microsoft doesn’t have a studio that can make an arkham/spider-man (or even GoTG)game
They reduced a dev with as much history as Rare into the company that makes mid like fukking Sea of Thieves

I think Rare would have still gone down this path even if Microsoft hadn’t bought them. They were already spiraling with people leaving the company which is probably why Nintendo didn’t buy them.
The utilization of their IP has been horrific though

arkham asylum series was the best thing xbox has had their hands on in regards to superhero shyt and that was for all consoles when it dropped
To make another DC-related game you'd need rocksteady to essentially get their shyt together or hope someone like Sucker Punch studios is interested in making games for microsoft (they already cashing out thanks to Sony tho im assuming lol)
