An hour and 23 minute long R&B album? In the short attention span era? :gucci:

Fukk wrong with this nikka :mjlol:

I wouldn't mind if the album had a bunch of uptempo/dance songs but listening to this right now and it's ehh, I mean the songs aren't bad I just kinda have an :unimpressed: energy listening to it
I was fixing dinner when I was listening to it and I remember a few songs had like

one of the most slept on albums ever. Forced him to go pop pop:russ:

but Adaptation, Kissland, Tears in the Rain, Belong to the world some fo the best songs he ever did imo

Kissland was a classic to me at the time. That was all him. Cheesy sounding love songs and horror movie styled drug binges.

After it flopped, that was when Universal top marketing sat him down and asked him are you ready to be a star? and he said yes lol

Agree this album is meant to be cohesive, immersive, cinematic, but that doesn't always mean they are great. I have sat through a half dozen 3 hour movies in the last 5 years in theaters, and thought they all needed about 40 min cut, and they dragged in too many points.

I feel that.

I'm a glutton for this type of sound so outside a track or two I loved all of it and its in entirety I can appreciate it as a greater than its pieces type of album.

could def have cut off Travis tho that part was so wack

Kissland, Dawn FM, and HUT are by far my three favorite Weeknd projects. I feel like this latest trilogy (AH, Dawn, and HUT) is an evolution of the expansive and cinematic Kissland style.

Man, his whole shyt fire to me. :manny:

Maybe outside Starboy although the highs on that are amazing.

He's too popish for me. The way I was introduced to him and what turned out to be after the trilogy just isn't for me.
He still makes trilogy type songs though... this album and after hours each had some. Why do yall act like trilogy didn't have catchy songs?

High for this
The morning
Twenty eight

Etc.

Agreed

His discography in general is ridiculous. It's under appreciated despite how famous he is. He should have Taylor swift levels of fame, although tbf his lyrics are not always family friendly and he doesn't like to show his face that much

Yeah, domestically he's not that big. Worldwide though, he's a superstar.
