So Cal
F8 has the highest opening at the box office ever and is a billion dollar movie. The only reason the Fast and Furious franchise still exists is solely cause of the Rock.

Lets not forget Jumanji, Black Adam, Rampage, plus a bunch of other movies he's currently working on
:whoa:

@R=G

""If you ask anyone who was in WWE witj access to all the numbers, from Vince on down, from both eras, and ask who was the biggest draw, everyone will reply Austin and without hesitation, because he sold more tickets, sold more merch, and sold more PPVs. Granted, there are huge differences in eras that mitigate those things, but...Austin beat Hogan in every financial category comparing peaks. Hogan did headline more successful shows because of far greater longevity. At his peak, Austin was bigger. For longevity, Hogan was."

- Meltzer

Love him or hate him I will take his word over yours any day. Rock was not in the same conversation.

As to RIGHT NOW, no shyt Rock is more famous. This is his hollywood prime. He is the biggest star in the world. What I was referring to is the fact that if you show 10 million people pictures of the rock and hulk Hogan, more will recognize Hogan. Not even a question.

Both are obviously popular. But Hulks peak and impact is bigger than Rocks.

Maybe that changes but as of now I simply disagree.

That's all I was saying also

Hulk was in music video's, had Saturday Morning Cartoons, Ice Creams, starred in movies also, Having children across the world saying their prayers and eating they vitamins, selling out arenas across the globe....He was and Hulkamania was a pop culture globally phenomenon. In the 80's It was Mike Jax and Hulk Hogan two Global Pop Icons

Rock bigger than Hulkamania :mjlol:
I hate hate hate Hoegan... but he is the face of wrestling. :francis: No different than Tupac, Jordan, Gretzsky, etc. in their respective fields.

Lot of cats in here tripping.

I dont see how you cant judge this from anything but an overall standpoint. So you take into account the entire criteria. Movies, TV, wrestling success etc. People like to use the "only in wrestling" Argument. Buyrates, Merch, Tickets, Ratings etc. but honestly how can you realistically and fairly judge only by this criteria and not include in the outside factors that contribute to a wrestlers success? top tier guys also have a taste of success in movies, tvs and so forth. The media presence plays a huge part. Without it, its just guys like Bruno who did alot for the business and had that internal starpower but overall no one calls him one of THE biggest all time. With that said over the past 30 years or so there are alot of guys who can say they have alot of overall starpower but imo these are the guys from the past 30 years or so who with unbias I can say are huge stars overall.

Austin
Hogan
Rock
Cena

1. Austin was huge. He overtook alot of what Hogan previously set but his actual run in year form is very short. Much like Rock. However the impact was still felt. Austin ventured into TV Shows and the outside media bubble. But once he was about done, he was pretty much done. Now in this day and age, we have Austin's impact on the wrestling world to judge by with some moderate media success. (Has his own show etc.)

2.Hogan is THE OG. Had the years , had the mileage and once he wound down, he tried to (unsuccessfully) venture into Hollywood. Hogan set the sjor records, but some of those were dethroned by those that would follow him. Hogan was big at a peak time in wrestling. And is very synonymous with alot.

3. Cena is the lesser known of all these guys overall but believe it or not, the guy is the modern day giant. Hes set alot of records. Hit some big buy rates and is trying to follow in the Hollywood path. I dont see him ever being bigger than Hogan/Rock/Austin but because he is synonymous with the past 10 years or so of the WWE, hes gotta be up here.

4. Rock was another Austin at his peak. And much like Austin dethroning things that Hogan set, Rock was dethroning things that Austin set. Rocks late 99-00 solo run hit some of the biggest numbers in the business. Rock was already getting is foot in the door with Hollywood. all in that 99-00 range. Now, The guy is one of the most recognizable faces and one the most bankable stars. You couple that with all that he achieved in wrestling and it just turns into one of the biggest if not the biggest overall star.

But if you must take away all of that outside success from those guys and judge only from a wrestling standpoint, then its still a tough argument. Austin and Rock had alot of wrestling success but short time frame. Cena had wrestling success and a long time frame but not on the level of those before him. So the only guy who fits the medium is Hogan in that wrestling only retrospect. If you judge overall, its gotta be Rock.

I never seen nobody cried for Rock when he lost..Hulk had Mother's, kid's crying and shyt when he lost, he getting carried out on stretchers because King Kong Bundy broke his ribs.

I ain't never seen new cast I'm talking about the Big 3 ABC, NBC, CBS giving Wrestlemania Results for The Rock, they did it when Hogan won his matches.

These people is crazy, We Will never see another Hulkamania again

Brehs I'm only 24 years old. Only Hogan I experienced in my lifetime was Hollywood Hogan and 2002 wwe hogan. I experienced Rock in his prime in 2000.

Even I know that Hogan was bigger than Rock. He was a key factor in the biggest and second biggest boom periods in wrestling. He is synonymous with American culture up there with Michael Jordan, McDonalds, Coca Cola, etc. I would argue that every adult in America either knows who he his, his name, or his face. Rock is doing great now, but he's in second place. However he still has time to take that spot.

And let's not get into their entrance music, Rock Original Rock Says was cool. But it never receives The Pop and world wide known as Hogan Real American. People used to lose their shyt during Hulkamania hey day, literally lose their minds.

Not only that after Hulk wins and they cue up Real American, the whole arena lose it, not one person in their seat, they screaming, Crying and shyt, Point the finger back at Hogan, it was a fukkin celebration, nobody leaving til the 2nd Curtain Call of Real American

In professional wrestling The Rock is not touching Hogan. Nobody is touching Hogan in wrestling except Austin. If it wasn't for Hogan wrestling would have never got big in the first. Because of Hogan you wouldn't have gotten Austin and The Rock.

If we're talking movies and pop culture than The Rock is much bigger than Hogan and Austin.
