The Rise of Skywalker doesn’t even feel like a Star Wars movie.

Granted that isn't saying much, its like picking through trash...

But I wholeheartedly disagree, TLJ is easily the WOAT SW film...

You have to both not be a SW fan and turn your brain off to find any enjoyment in that film...

The beginning of the film (gunning for the rebel base on the planet instead of the ship they're fleeing to), Leia using the force to float through space, the casino and the Holdo maneuver are still hands down the dumbest scenes in the franchise...

That purple hair chick had no reason to be in that movie man

I never read a movie title that pissed me off so much. Name it The rise of skywalker after u kill off the OG skywalker and this broad just calls herself a skywalker after making a golden lightsaber? I wanted to light the theater on fire and i dont even consider myself a hardcore star wars fan

Not feel like a Star Wars movie?

Yall brehs really just bytch and complain

That's fukking true :russ:

But here's the issue with it for me. and it's not about it not "feeling like a Star Wars" movie. especially since George Lucas shepherded the first six we got and the prequels don't feel like the original trilogy at all to me.

Star Wars as a series is inspired by other things. Serials like Flash Gordon and movies like hidden fortress and then real world shyt like Vietnam or WW2. Even the prequels are inspired by real world history like fassiscifc regimes and stories of how democracies disappear over time.

JJ's movies are inspired by Star Wars movies. That in itself is a fundamental shift in the series. It's like listening to a Nirvana cover band instead of the real thing

Breh you said it....the prequels have a different feel from the originals. The sequels have a different feel from both. It's still Star Wars.

At the end of the day if you want the old shyt again then watch the old shyt again.

If you can't go out and make a 200 million dollar movie then stop complaining as if you're the one that made it.

The alternative is getting nothing at all

I’m 30 minutes in and :dahell: this is some bullshyt.

And u can tell a female was behind this fukkery :scusthov:
Yeah, it doesn't feel like Star Wars at all. And the crazy thing is that most Stars Wars movies have different feels. All 3 of the originals have different vibes and tones. The prequels and Mandalorian all have their own tones, etc; there's a lot of stuff that's different that still seems like Star Wars, but Rise of Skywalker doesn't. It's just a massive Frankenstein monster that feels like 3 different movies rushed and crammed into one. It just has an incredibly nice looking and expensive Star Wars coat of paint on it.

The sad thing is that it's not even bad in an entertaining way. It's just bare minimum entertainment / stream something to kill time quality stuff. And even in that lane there are much better choices. If I were one of the actors involved with the new trilogy I'd be disappointed as hell. pretty much everyone got their arc destroyed, sabotaged, nose-dived, or forgotten about.

Mando is literally holding this shyt franchise on its last legs. If/when they fukk that up, the Star Wars saga will finally end....unless they hand it over to Favreau and Filoni
Nope

They're about to shove an Aksoka and Rangers of the New Republic series down our throats to make up FOR THE THREE GARBAGE ASS MOVIES we just got in theaters
