it can be in some situations, but performance should suffer

I'll also point out that Uh Oh said "I have had some moments where I get really low fps"

I seem to remember I couldn't maintain 60fps at 1080p in BL2 with physx on 'high' with my 780. and the thing is everything seems fine, but then when the particles start flying around, performance drops

I would imagine any "ultra" physx setting would be made for those with a dedicated physx card
Yeah, I'm curious to see what @2gunsup gets with his dedicated card turned off.

its just that I had no problem with BL2 and the benchmarks say I should be able to run this on ultra no problem

Oh well, we'll see tonight

that's pretty much a 20fps difference between 'ultra' and 'high' at 1080p and 1440p

Borderlands 2 didn't allow me to turn physx on (or maybe it did and I don't remember), but this game does. I'm getting a whole lot more shyt on my screen compared to my BL2 experience.

Yeah, this is when it gets really bad. I haven't checked to see what my fps are, I'll check when I play tonight and I'll see how different it is with physx off

I have 2 cards and I'm basically getting 4k numbers (I assume this benchmark is with one card, but I can't see the source). Something is wrong.

Hopefully turning down physx helps though :sadcam:

Nah, I always leave it on. I hate screen tearing.

My point is that its not even using all my gpu (due to vsync) and it still has all these outrageous frame rate drops.

Try it with vsync off and set framerate to unlimited.

Here's a video via Shadowplay of just the 780s, physx set to second 780.

There was one point that it dropped to like 58 fps for like half a second. Keep in mind that I have the SMAA thing going, and the preset is on high. It's much more demanding than FXAA.

It should run fine, especially at 1440x900. Just make sure it is not trying to run on the intel graphics.

Thanks breh. I'm gonna try turning off vsync and see if that helps later tonight. But from your video it appears that I should have no problem with this game at ultra. Hopefully it'll work, but I'm real :lupe:

My shyt might be fukked up. :sadcam:
