Insane.......... that is the word for this SVS PB16-Ultra. ABSOLUTELY INSANE!!!! Picked up one today, the amount of bass that comes out of that beast is ridiculous. Not only that, it is mammoth in size. You could literally put this at the end of the couch for a table. The sheer size of it alone is just jaw dropping, the gloss finish is beautiful. The bluetooth app is perfect, all kinds of adjustments. This is by far the largest sub I have ever owned. 175lbs. On the screen is Batman VS Superman, when he fires the gun, I can literally feel it in my chest and the couch, not to mention all the other low frequency stuff happening at the time courtesy of Hans Zimmer. Music just floats on by with "I'm here!" bassline. There is a little bit of sheer terror in thinking about turning it up, I think it might crack my walls. I am literally insane enough to buy a 2nd one and place it diagonally in the other corner, I already told the owner of the store where I got it that I'll be back for #2.

Just looked again and saw I paid $150 for the smaller sub, returning that shyt for 2 of these at net +$85 is a no brainer.

:salute:
I have the book shelf speaker set from last year. Says it won't come in until the 30th, but I have to strike a balance with performance and aesthetic as this is for my family room. Matches the look of the rest of the set and my wife won't be tripping over them being too huge.

Should add a nice punch to my setup, I had been using an old Yamaha sub from an HT set from 2010

:flabbynsick:

I'll post a pic when after it comes in.

You should look into in walls similar to what I did. It’s a super stealth setup and there are very inexpensive options as well (if you aren’t in an apartment that is.)
The subs you linked me to are allowing me to upgrade two 8” to now two 10” but in a nice enclosure that won’t be in the way of anything. Really appreciate it breh.

I have them mounted on the walls, not cut out tho. None of the speaker wires are visible, had to run 3 out of the 5 speakers wires up from my basement through insulation. That was fun.

Then the hard work is already done and if the walls are insulated then even better. Put them into the walls, you’ll thank me later once you see how clean that shyt looks

Finally got the triple power recliner setup, middle one came from a professional A/V store, solid wood with leather. Owner didn't have the other 2 ready to sell yet so I had to substitute with ones from Amazon, not bad, right armrest flips open to reveal storage space and 2 USB ports along with standard 120V outlet.

Also picked up a Cyberpower LX1500GU UPS battery back up and surge protector. Has 5 battery-backed outlets and 5 standard outlets, gives you all the info you need on the current load of things plugged in, voltage in and out, and how much runtime you have if the power goes out.

Going a few steps backward in current tech, putting together an audio only listening room. Just picked up a mint condition Sony DVD/CD 5-Disc changer, looking at a MiniDisc, and DAT deck. Also grabbed a Sony CD 5-Disc changer for the living room as I have about 600 cd's and no dedicated player for them. All the disc are ripped to 16/24bit FLAC files on a Synology NAS.

Got a bit nostalgic and bought a Sony CFD-775 boombox to fix up. '90-'91 era, Sony had these damn things retailed for $460, insane pricing for boombox especially considering your avg Sharp, JVC, or Panasonic was easily under $200. This thing competed with shelf mini-system with features and sound quality. 2-way bass reflex detachable speakers, hi-speed cd-dubbing, full logic Dolby cassette decks, metal type IV tape playback (type II recordable), 3 band eq, motorized volume, and remote control. Seller said cd and decks didn't work, I took it apart and was able to fix one the decks with new belts, cd plays fine, laser needs adjustment. Painted the speaker grills in their original semi-gloss, and painted the drivers so they don't look faded.

Yep, I’m finding most cassette decks need belts, folks don’t wanna take them apart to fix them. A few companies make either exact oem replacements or can custom make them whatever length needed.

damn I had an old tape deck (didn’t work) so I threw that out too…I just fully read your post tho…I skimmed thru it and thought that was a new joint and that they were making a comeback or there was a niche demand for them lol

:russ: naw, that joint is old, 1991 I believe, bought it off Ebay 2 weeks ago. I wanted that exact one as a teenager, couldn't afforrd to blow 500 on a boombox tho. Sony didn't make a lot of them cause they were so expensive back then. I'll fix it up and keep it.
