Bumping this thread as I just bought a home with a dedicated home theater room. For my 1.0 setup because I’m tapped on cash I’m doing a front stage with my Andrew Jones 5.1 speakers but I was able to get a really good deal on a 2011 Yamaha Aventage 3000 to get me to 11.2 while I wait for the budget to open up to 11.2.4 for atmos and imax sound. I have a motorized mustang screen and a cheap Chinese projector I bought a decade ago that’s in the attic. That should get me by for several months

the plan is to not see any visible equipment, 135” acoustically transparent screen mated to definitive technology in wall front channels, a monoprice monolith amp to drive those speakers, and then swap it out for maybe a marantz avr for the projector Benq looks really good for the budget until I can upgrade to the final setup which will be the Sony true 4K projector, I plan to also hide the projector with a motorized ceiling drop down but that’s for a later date.

For seating it’s eBay for now until I can afford the pro theater electric recline seats

I saw someone here with acoustic panels I would like to do for the side walls, any recommendations?

Old faithful is leaving. Meaning the couch, Most comfy thing I've ever had. It's just old and in need of replacement.

Getting this and converting to a roll out sleeper. Mattress size is a queen size Got tons of nieces and nephews and they be wanting to spend the night. Last time, we had people on the various air mattresses in the living room. Going to lessen the burden of that in the future with this. Damn thing will be shipped in 3-4 months though. I'm not getting the pillows.

I need to post my setup but I want to remind folks don’t sleep on buying used. I found someone selling two piano black SVS SB2000Pro subs for $1,200 on facebook. Came with the isolation feet on both subs too. He was living in a new apartment with his girlfriend and they had to go.

Nope, I just have it for hobby purposes. I'm no Jazzy Jeff but I'm kinda decent at it. It's the first DDJ-SX. Do you do anything like this?

Oh okay, for hobby purposes. No, I don't DJ at all but it is something I would like to play with it and learn it as a hobby.

It's extremely fun. At first, I was just trying to mash songs together. I realized that some DJs use harmonic mixing software.

How-To Guide from Harmonic-Mixing.com

This led me to a software called Mixed in Key.

See, I just did this for Kendrick's new LP.

Now, compare to a mixture of Daft Punk or Keys N Krates, electronic artists.

Working through this from the Key Result, That is finding the key of the song based on the harmonic mixing wheel. The energy for a better explanation is here. Energy Boost mixing tutorial

Tempo is Beats per minutes. Cue Points is what I have set up for Serato as it picks up a maximum of 8 per track.

If interesting, I'll be glad to assist.

Insane.......... that is the word for this SVS PB16-Ultra. ABSOLUTELY INSANE!!!! Picked up one today, the amount of bass that comes out of that beast is ridiculous. Not only that, it is mammoth in size. You could literally put this at the end of the couch for a table. The sheer size of it alone is just jaw dropping, the gloss finish is beautiful. The bluetooth app is perfect, all kinds of adjustments. This is by far the largest sub I have ever owned. 175lbs. On the screen is Batman VS Superman, when he fires the gun, I can literally feel it in my chest and the couch, not to mention all the other low frequency stuff happening at the time courtesy of Hans Zimmer. Music just floats on by with "I'm here!" bassline. There is a little bit of sheer terror in thinking about turning it up, I think it might crack my walls. I am literally insane enough to buy a 2nd one and place it diagonally in the other corner, I already told the owner of the store where I got it that I'll be back for #2.
