Here's my setup. Serious work in progress for me as I'm still in the process of decorating my house and that's where the majority of my money is tied up at. There's a bunch of equipment I'm planning to buy in the future, but this is what I have so far. When my system is completely setup, I should be able to control many functions of the house (lighting, security, locks, AV gear, etc) all from my iPad with one app.
Home Theater Equipment
Samsung LNS3251D 32" LCD
Vizio E701i-A3 70" LED
Mitsubishi HC1500 DLP Projector (720p)
Onkyo TX-SR604 AV Receiver
2x Polk R50 floor standing speakers
2x Polk R150 bookshelf speakers
Polk CSi25 center channel speaker
HTPC
PS4/Wii U PS3/Wii
HTPC
Home Automation Equipment
Veralite Z-Wave Controller
Ooma
iTach ip2ir
Monoprice HDBaseT Kit
This is the 32" Samsung LCD and my Wii in my office. I rarely use this, unless my girl is downstairs watching TV on the big screen.
Here is my 70" Vizio Smart LED on a book case I built. Below the TV is the PS4 and the Wii U.
This is an iTach ip2ir module. It's used to allow me control any IR devices from my iPad using the Roomie Remote app. The cable coming out of the device is an IR emitter. The app connects to the device and sends IR commands to the TV (the emitter is connected to the IR sensor on the TV). Anything I can do with my regular remote, I can now do with the iPad.
This is an HDBaseT receiver that's mounted on the wall behind my TV. It allows me to a send lossless audio and up to 4k video signal from my equipment in my basement to my TV over a single ethernet cable. I can also send IR over it as well (still trying to get that part figured out). That way all of my equipment can be in the basement (DVR, BluRay Player, Roku, PS4) and my TV can be anywhere in the house. There's a 2nd one in the basement.
This is an Evolve LRM-AS Z-Wave light switch. I started swapping all the light switches in my house for these. These switches allow me to control my lights from my iPad. I can turn them on, off, or set the dim level. I have a total of 27 switches to replace
Here's my receiver, Onkyo TX-SR604 (shytty lighting). It's on it's last legs right now. HDMI ports on the back aren't working anymore and the remote barely works most the time. I'm gonna be upgrading to a Pioneer Elite soon. Those new receivers have IP control will allow me to control it from my iPad as well.
This is my VeraLite. It's pretty much the brains of the house. I don't have all of the equipment yet, but with it I can control my lights, locks, garage door, thermostat, security cameras, and arm/disarm the house remotely. I can always setup actions so that once the Garage door opens, the door automatically unlocks, lights turn on, and music starts playing throughout the house.
This is where my projector is going to be when I finish the room. The TV crevice is going to be covered up by a 120" projector screen. I'll be upgrading the project to a 1080p model next year hopefully.
Here's my equipment room. Eventually I'll get a rack and deal with the cables, but for now it's hidden away so I don't really care.
And this is the app on my iPad (Roomie Remote). I don't have everything setup but this is what I've configured so far in my living room. When it's all said and done, the whole house will be controlled via the iPad.
I just need to upgrade my receiver and projector, purchase my whole house audio system (HTD Lync 12), and finish swapping out the rest of the lights and locks.
