Thanks, I am running a 7.1 now but hooked up a power amp because really gives the front towers that extra punch and clarity that a regular receiver cant. At this point I am pretty much done, I am going to get 2 satellite speakers for the other side of the pool table to get a little more clarity on that side. I honestly listen to music more than I watch movies. What type of speakers do you have? what type of receiver are you thinking?

When my setup is complete I'll more than likely end up running separates too.

Here's my setup. Serious work in progress for me as I'm still in the process of decorating my house and that's where the majority of my money is tied up at. There's a bunch of equipment I'm planning to buy in the future, but this is what I have so far. When my system is completely setup, I should be able to control many functions of the house (lighting, security, locks, AV gear, etc) all from my iPad with one app.

Home Theater Equipment
Samsung LNS3251D 32" LCD
Vizio E701i-A3 70" LED
Mitsubishi HC1500 DLP Projector (720p)
Onkyo TX-SR604 AV Receiver
2x Polk R50 floor standing speakers
2x Polk R150 bookshelf speakers
Polk CSi25 center channel speaker
HTPC
PS4/Wii U PS3/Wii
HTPC

Home Automation Equipment
Veralite Z-Wave Controller
Ooma
iTach ip2ir
Monoprice HDBaseT Kit

This is the 32" Samsung LCD and my Wii in my office. I rarely use this, unless my girl is downstairs watching TV on the big screen.

Here is my 70" Vizio Smart LED on a book case I built. Below the TV is the PS4 and the Wii U.

This is an iTach ip2ir module. It's used to allow me control any IR devices from my iPad using the Roomie Remote app. The cable coming out of the device is an IR emitter. The app connects to the device and sends IR commands to the TV (the emitter is connected to the IR sensor on the TV). Anything I can do with my regular remote, I can now do with the iPad.

This is an HDBaseT receiver that's mounted on the wall behind my TV. It allows me to a send lossless audio and up to 4k video signal from my equipment in my basement to my TV over a single ethernet cable. I can also send IR over it as well (still trying to get that part figured out). That way all of my equipment can be in the basement (DVR, BluRay Player, Roku, PS4) and my TV can be anywhere in the house. There's a 2nd one in the basement.

This is an Evolve LRM-AS Z-Wave light switch. I started swapping all the light switches in my house for these. These switches allow me to control my lights from my iPad. I can turn them on, off, or set the dim level. I have a total of 27 switches to replace

Here's my receiver, Onkyo TX-SR604 (shytty lighting). It's on it's last legs right now. HDMI ports on the back aren't working anymore and the remote barely works most the time. I'm gonna be upgrading to a Pioneer Elite soon. Those new receivers have IP control will allow me to control it from my iPad as well.

This is my VeraLite. It's pretty much the brains of the house. I don't have all of the equipment yet, but with it I can control my lights, locks, garage door, thermostat, security cameras, and arm/disarm the house remotely. I can always setup actions so that once the Garage door opens, the door automatically unlocks, lights turn on, and music starts playing throughout the house.

This is where my projector is going to be when I finish the room. The TV crevice is going to be covered up by a 120" projector screen. I'll be upgrading the project to a 1080p model next year hopefully.

Here's my equipment room. Eventually I'll get a rack and deal with the cables, but for now it's hidden away so I don't really care.

Photo%20Dec%2001%2C%209%2026%2036%20AM.jpg

And this is the app on my iPad (Roomie Remote). I don't have everything setup but this is what I've configured so far in my living room. When it's all said and done, the whole house will be controlled via the iPad.

I just need to upgrade my receiver and projector, purchase my whole house audio system (HTD Lync 12), and finish swapping out the rest of the lights and locks.

Duuuuuvaaaaal!!
I am finishing up my first home theater build (will add pics soon). But if any of you have home theater/media room setups, post some pics!

Note: If any of you are in need of some good blackout shades to tame a window in the room, check these out. I used them and they work perfectly. AND the material was developed and is sold by a brotha. So show support.

Gonna finish my theater room this year and I can't wait. Figure I'd post everything I'm gonna get (especially since I'm drunk :ehh:)

HTD Lync 12 Whole House Audio system

- already got my crib prewired for about 8 audio zones. The system does 12 zones and have 12 keypads. I still have to wire my upstairs which is an additional 3 zones, but decided to wait cuz the installer said he'd have to rip up the carpet to get the cables upstairs.

Pioneer Elite VSX-80 Receiver

My boy got this and highly recommends it. I'm rocking an Onkyo TX-SR604 right now and it's on it's last legs The best part is it does IP control so I can control it from my iPad using Roomie Remote

Panasonic AE8000U Projector

I already have a Mitsubishi HC1500, but I've been eyeing this PJ for a while. I should be able to get it to 120" in my theater with the throw distance on it.

Vizio E700i 70" LED

I already got one in my living room, but I'll get 2 more in the basement.

There's some other shyt I'm not 100% sure on yet, like a power conditioner pre-pro and amplifier, but I'm still researching what I'll get. I'm also gonna get some new speakers too.
