Horror movie of the year front runner till dr. Sleep dropped.
I guess the bar for horror really is that low now :mjcry:

The terrible attempts at humor :trash:

The godawful dialog :trash:

The goat shed scene was the only thing this movie had going for it. The twist almost worked but it wasn't enough :unimpressed:

I tried to show my 19 month old son gummi bears on Disney + and this lil dude looked me straight in the face like :shaq2:...and said “storybots”.
Quick Update bc I remember us discussing this. I finally broke down and added Disney + to my repertoire. My daughter made me do it.

As if Nickelodeon on Netflix wasn’t enough.

Couple of recent watches:

- "S&Man" - Ambitious, low budget blend of documentary and hoaxcumentary, an artifact from the mid 2000's... Real people blended with fiction. It should exist more as a sign of what's to come, because many of the stronger independent horrors of the 2010s adopt similar ideas as what's presented

- "Depraved" - A 2019 movie that was on my radar. Totally different than what I expected, mostly for the better though it was a bit of a slow burn. One main idea about military violence/PTSD, with some subtext about emotional toilings in relationships. Larry Fessenden was pretty unknown to me, I remember having seen Wendigo on TV when I was a kid and I remember its surrealism and creature design had an effect on me. As I peruse his body of work I can sense a level of humanism in the messages of his movies so I definitely want to look further in to his work after this. It's essentially the tale of Frankenstein in a modern setting, which Bernard Rose already attempted with terribly mixed results though not without its moments (Tony Todd!).

Also, not for nothing, Grizzly Man is definitely a great movie that pretty much anyone can get into if they tried
