A Villa Straylight.
:laff::laff:
that movie was racist af though. at least Jigsaw was an equal opportunity killer bc those people that he targeted were void, selfish and evil to their core. Most of them I wanted to see go out like they did lol. Kearsey was just out here targeting black people and latinos in all types of stereotypical situations. Dude was driving to the hood and profiling people specifically to look for trouble. movie spawned real life white boy copycat vengeance killers like Bernard Goetz out here; thinking he could take out a whole subway car full of kids just for looking at him wrong.
Deathwish is a white supremacist fantasy. But Jigsaw is just as much a self-righteous a$$hole.

Minus the drug addict, who I have sympathy for, yeah pretty much. People cheating on their spouses, people stealing money, lying to their kids, fukking around at the jobs or treating their families like shyt? fukk it, that's on you.

That's an insult to Jigsaw:russ:
:unimpressed:both self righteous. Jigsaw is a cowardly Punisher.

That's not what I got for each movie- initially, Jigsaw was trying to right the wrongs of society with people that were unredeemable and had no value for the lives of others. Most of the initial traps were set up where if they focus on "teamwork" instead of plotting against each other or trying to one up the other person; they could have had a higher survivability. But still, Jigsaw was wrong to have a god complex. I think more of that self righteous elements and torture just for the sake of torturing came with the later Saw movies.

Oh I don't disagree. But why is he judge jury and executioner? That's a podcast episode.
He might not have viewed himself as that - he reached his breaking point. Like enough is enough. He wasn't really Judge because it was beyond any doubt that the people he chose were guilty of repeatedly being part of deviant activities for selfish motivations. They didn't learn from their mistakes. From his perspective - they were already judged bc they didn't repent, they weren't trying to change their negative ways, that was already decided. the jury wasn't necessary- all that is left is to execute the plan.

Fair enough.

‘The Georgetown Project’: Kevin Williamson Horror Film Adds Sam Worthington and David Hyde Pierce!
Miramax’s supernatural thriller from Scream co-creator Kevin Williamson has been given a title: The Georgetown Project.

The film stars Oscar winner Russell Crowe as a troubled actor shooting a supernatural horror film.

ADVERTIm Worthington (pictured above; Avatar, Terminator Salvation, Fractured) and David Hyde Pierce (pictured below; “Frasier”, Wet Hot American Summer, The Perfect Host) have landed lead roles alongside Crowe, says THR, with Ryan Simpkins, Chloe Bailey, Tracey Bonner and Samantha Mathis also starring.

Adam Goldberg (“Taken”) has also joined the cast.

Being written and directed by Joshua John Miller and M.A. Fortin, the writers of 2015’s brilliant slasher-comedy The Final Girls, the film follows troubled actor Anthony Miller (Crowe), who begins to unravel while shooting a supernatural horror film. His estranged daughter (Ryan Simpkins) wonders if he’s slipping back into his past addictions or if there’s something more sinister at play.

Bill Block is producing for Miramax. Kevin Williamson and Ben Fast are producing for Outerbanks

There goes that politics - horror connection within the films.
and lol at the photo in the link.
:mjlol::deadmanny:
We all know where this is going -
"Alvarez's film will revolve around an unhinged lunatic who somehow finds himself placed in charge of things at the White House, where he'll be forced to battle both isolation and his inner demons alongside his abused family. We can't imagine how Alvarez and Sayagues came up with this idea. "
You know I’ve thought on this more than once, how do you satire a situation that almost seems so absurd it’s beyond it?

What would be a good female horror movie villain?:jbhmm:
Come to think of it, has there really been a recurring female horror character in films ..hmmm.
Recurring no, but definitely some memorable singular characters. I think the fact that much of American horror (by extension, “recurring horror characters”) revolves around the idea of a damsel in distress. And if not that specific dynamic, otherwise using the female characters as either victims or in peril, vulnerable in some sense.
There’s the case of certain JHorror where the girls from the Ringu and Ju-On movies had several sequels. I wonder if other regional cinema has horror aspects similar to Japan in that sense.
