The Howling series

What more can i say
Had a spark with it started
Damn Homie, in ‘81 you was the man homey – DaFukk Happened to you?!

The series had one excellent movie – then everything went downhill
I feel there is an award-winning documentary about this series' falloff.

the Howling –1981

Fukkin’ classic
One of the best werewolf transformations in the genre.
Great cast. Did not realize Roger Corman had a Cameo in this until this last watch.
Forgot dikk Miller was in this , Robert Picardo was creepy as fukk in this too
They hint of mysticism works great her, and just ruins the rest of the series
(Look at Michael Myers and the druid bullshyt)

Howling 2 “ your sister is a werewolf (1985)

Its actually a direct sequel to the original.
This one has a cult following – I have no idea why
Its pretty bad- other than the nudity
Did they run out of money for the FX?
Got that Christopher Lee Stimi and i heard he apologized to Joe Dante for starring in this.

Howling 3 – the Marsupials (1987)

What in the entire fukk
They move the series over to Australia and give us a Marsupial Cryptid
They change the entire Mythos ‘
Decent kills , but another terrible movie – the “werewolves” look horrible

Howling 4: the original nightmare (1988) AKA – the oiriginal snoozefest

This is actually a loose adaptation of one of the novels
It has a pretty wild transformation at the end , but its pretty boring as fukk

Howling 5: the rebirth (1989)

This one is actually Decent
It has a nice plot – basically,a who done it in a castle
Only complaint is that its too damn dark
Not sure if its because of budget
Or they just did not care

Howling 6 the freaks (1991)

Decent kills, surprisingly deceit FX- Story is horrible
Technically a crossover of cryptids genre – fina fight could have been better

Howling 7 New moon rising (1995)

Possibly the worst movie I have ever seen
Calling this a bad movie is disrespect to bad movies
Its a step below lloosely connected to parts 4 & 5
This should have one of the worst Werewolf transformations ever
They also had no money for FX, so you got Werewolf vision
Any time there was a kill form the creature POV its like the Predator Vision through its mask
This movie is Charles Barkley Turrble

I mean - just check this shyt out! :russ:

Howling Reborn (2011) the reboot
.

CW level teen angst werewolf movie
Surprisingly bloody,. the bad guys have a great plan , but its totally overshadowed by the teen drama bullshyt
Excellent kill FX too, pity they ruined it

For an overall series review

ABO1 did that so hopefully you won't have to go through that
I will only watch the original again
Fukk the rest of these

Popeye's Revenge (2025)
popped up on my plex share and I was like , "why the hell not!" :mjlit:

Fukkery breh's :russ:

if it was another killer in it , this actually would have been a decent UK Friday the 13th/ TCM style slasher

When he squared up on nikka's like in the cartoon :dead:

Is it bad, yeah,
but its that good , cheesy type of bad, like the fast food you know you shouldn't eat , but run out at night just to get your fill

Decent Kill FX , story actually moves at a decent pace. they tried with this one
probably will never watch again, but don't feel like a total waste either

Out of the Public Domain Horror , this one is probably the best out of the bunch and thats not saying much

I watched In Search of Darkness 1990-1994 last week.

They had some people talk about Def by Temption. I remeber they had Ernest dikkerson whose the cinematagropher on the movie.

I've never seen the movie before, but I think i might need to do a double feature with that and People Under the Stairs tonight:wow:
Dope, was just bout to ask if anyone has peeped yet. I am 2 hours in (watching it in sections)

One movie that caught my eye was the Italian SOV; Deep Night 1991, it’s on yt but no subtitles.

I watched Companion and likes it. I root for all the young actresses from Yellowjackets, they're all great on that show.

I also watched The Hidden from 1987. I thought it was a great 80s Sci-Fi/Horror movie. I saw you guys talking about Jason Goes to Hell recently, and I think they got thier idea from this movie.

I also watched Alligator from 1980. Robert Forester was great as usual. I swear every creature feature has a romance with an older guy and younger woman. Theres Pirahana, Alligator, Lake Placid, Deep Rising, and more that I'm probably forgetting.
