“Pilgrim” - part of the Into The Dark series of movies on Hulu -surprisingly good so far. It’s coming off like the Thanksgiving version of Krampus - with a dysfunctional family. Blended family situation. The twist is the biracial “woke” daughter, she sees thanksgiving as racist; the family is too white bread for her, the stepmom is too stepford wife-ish, her bio dad is too caught up in his business, money and work life to notice the nuances. Add into that the super religious devout pilgrim role players they hire for thanksgiving which the daughter is very vocal against bc she’s see this as a celebration of genocide - chaos ensues. In come the bad omens .. (The daughter’s sarcasm and one liners have me
bc it’s not like what she’s saying isn’t true, she’s on white family/neighborhood overload, no filter ) - I like how they cut through the political correctness b.s. and film the movie based on her perspective as the main character . This is a horror movie with comedic aspects of it but not straight up horror-com. I can sense the underlying theme is about to pick up 30 mins in. Interesting to see how the plot develops.. i’ll be back. The main pilgrim man seems sinister af
