I hate the misconception of someone making the team "better" due to statistics. You can argue that his triple doubles are hindering the team if they're losing due to him handling the ball for the vast majority of the time. But for that be the case it would be because the team have options that are being neglected due to Westbrook. But the truth is that the Thunder DO NOT. The fact that they're WINNING the majority of their games due to him getting a triple double, like almost 3/4ths of their wins, suggests he's both carrying his team AND making them better (obviously since he's AVERAGING double digits in assists). Lets be honest, the Thunder so not have any quality shooters. They do not have any one else that can come out and create their own shot. They don't have any other playmakers. They barely have a defense. Yet they're practically TIED with the Clippers who are at least THREE SUPERSTARS, three players that made the all-star team, quality shooters and bigger depth in their roster. So how is it that he ISN'T making his team "better" than they actually are? The Thunder have ZERO BUSINESS to be in the position they are in, especially fighting for the 5th seed and may even get the 4th seed and are capable of beating both the Clippers and the Jazz is it happens that they'll face either one in the 1st rnd. What Westbrook been doing and how it brought positive output for his team overall is impeccable and should not be undermine.
