.it's an all around contribution that benefits your team. You getting the rebounds versus the other competitor.

Did you read nothing in the OP? Russ ain't pulling more than 1-2 boards a game from the other team. His teammates are fantastic rebounders letting him get the uncontested boards.

Watch the video - the loafing that Westbrook does on defense in order to be waiting for the rebound obviously hurts them way more than his boards help them.

Rusd literally dead last in the NBA in contesting shots.

If you go back and look, how many "triple-double fails" (we'll call them), involve ONLY being short on assists? A lot of them; the rebounds and points are always there (with a couple exceptions)

AND

Of those, how many have a high number of passes, or attempted assists?
A lot of them.

Takeaway: When Russ' teammates are off, we (USUALLY) have a bad night, regardless of what Russ does.

Takeway#2: ya'll nikkas are GROSSLY not factoring in all the near misses this season.....
go look em up

So the trip-dub is the consequence of his teammates having an on night, which us the reason they win, and has nothing to do with Russ playing beter that night?

And the extremely rare number of near misses is in the OP, exact numbers. He had a few the first month before he started the streak, after that he started chasing like crazy and the near misses disappeared.

Except when you look at the numbers of Westbrook's teammates, they're as empty as Jordan's teammates.

:yeshrug:

Yet he get 10 plus assists per game with those teammates. It points to how BAD the Thunder are outside of Westbrook. Imagine how they fair without him? Making a team better isn't solely a numbers game, but getting your players to fight and never quit on themselves and do what it must. He's doing that with a squad as I said have no business to be in the position where they're at.

You put this team out East, they would be the 2nd or 3rd seed. The Western Conference is a more difficult conference to begin with.

Westbrook get both contested and uncontested rebounds as do ALL of the top rebounders in the league. But if you are complaining about his bigs BOXING OUT their competitor so Westbrook gets the rebound, HOW THE HELL that's a complaint on Russ when it's by design? This is how they get many of their fast break points from.

How you going to act or pretend all of his average rebound are just solo when many of them are like this?

Forget it @The Dankster. Westbrook stans are the new AI stans. They don´t want the storyline around their hero to be picked apart by logic and facts. :hubie:

They just want someone to root for that makes them feel good about themselves. :mjcry:

It´s all good. Like Jalen Rose says: got to give the people what they want. :manny:

oddly enough Durant actually talked about this in the Simmons pod today. he said both him and russ were /are coached to crash the boards to push the break. it's been indoctrinated in them since day one. Durant said that's how he averaged 8 boards last year. he said they were coached to win the rebound battle. everyone has to chip in.

Which player can't you pick apart like that? I'll wait.

YOOOOO I've really seen nothing like this. Westbrook bustin his ass out there, doing everything and y'all are tryna minimize it. He's doing something that most of us have never witnessed.

I can't wait to see the Thunder get eliminated in the 1st round. The whole stat padding and even worse, making it like Westbrook doesn't have any weapons is laughable. McDermott, Gibson, Oladipo, Kanter, Adams, Sabonis and this guy still chucks up 30 shots a game. He's entertaining to watch but, his whole game is being forced for a MVP trophy. I thought this was a team game and about winning a "ring".

So a game like last Wednesday where the rest of the team shot like 22 for 62 (35%) while Westbrook shot 21-40 (52%) and he single-handedly brought them back from OKC's largest deficit ever in that franchise history, while making history for the sole purpose for them to win the game just to clinch the playoffs.... you think all of that was "stat padding" and those so-called "weapons" collectively shot 35 PERCENT FROM THE FIELD is not the reason why Westbrook is forced to take over and carry his team on his back for the 2ND TIME in a row and arguably a 3rd with the Rockets when they brought that down to single digits.... you SERIOUSLY believe all of this is so Russell Westbrook can pad his stats? Taj played 23 minutes and only got 2 points to show for it. Oladipo played 44 MINUTES and was a pathetic 4-17!!! FOUR FOR fukkING SEVENTEEN! Where are these so-called weapons you speak of? It's not Westbrook's fault that McDermott only play three minutes with zero points. Not his fault that Sabonis is still a ROOKIE and not remotely a candidate for any rookie of the year. What "weapons" are you TALKING ABOUT? The only player who been consistent aside from Westbrook been Kanter and he comes off the bench mostly during the times Westbrook is NOT on the floor.

Stop hating or making excuses and give credit where credit is due.
