.it's an all around contribution that benefits your team. You getting the rebounds versus the other competitor.
Did you read nothing in the OP? Russ ain't pulling more than 1-2 boards a game from the other team. His teammates are fantastic rebounders letting him get the uncontested boards.
Watch the video - the loafing that Westbrook does on defense in order to be waiting for the rebound obviously hurts them way more than his boards help them.
Rusd literally dead last in the NBA in contesting shots.
If you go back and look, how many "triple-double fails" (we'll call them), involve ONLY being short on assists? A lot of them; the rebounds and points are always there (with a couple exceptions)
AND
Of those, how many have a high number of passes, or attempted assists?
A lot of them.
Takeaway: When Russ' teammates are off, we (USUALLY) have a bad night, regardless of what Russ does.
Takeway#2: ya'll nikkas are GROSSLY not factoring in all the near misses this season.....
go look em up
So the trip-dub is the consequence of his teammates having an on night, which us the reason they win, and has nothing to do with Russ playing beter that night?
And the extremely rare number of near misses is in the OP, exact numbers. He had a few the first month before he started the streak, after that he started chasing like crazy and the near misses disappeared.
