The MCU might have a problem they don't know about yet.

They all were B or C list before they had a hit film. Hulk had low budget live action tv shows before taking off in movies. Spiderman had low budget live action tv shows nobody watch before taking off in movies.
Cap had low budget live action movies before big budget movies took him to another level. FF4 had unreleased movies nobody even saw before taking off in big budget films. Iron Man and Thor did the same thing.
They're all A list now because of Sony, Fox, and Disney. it's mostly just the studio they went to that determined which one popped off first.
No, my guy. Spider-Man, X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and the Hulk were all A-list characters before the MCU. Even people who didn't read comic books or watched cartoons and stuff could recognize those characters before the MCU.

However, DC is home to most of the iconic superheroes (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, etc). It's just that DC (really Warner Bros.) have let Marvel each their lunch in live-action films since the MCU started (for the most part):mjlol:

I literally said that in one of my comments when I brought up the viewership of their Marvel TV shows not looking pretty :comeon:

Just because Disney doesn't tout those numbers doesn't mean that people find it out for themselves.
That’s cool. I don’t really see that being a big issue in the end but we’ll see how it shakes out.

I agree with the bolded. But that wasn't what i was saying. I said they weren't A-list before their first big budget movie.
Spiderman wasn't A-list before tobey
Hulk wasn't A-list before Ang Lee
Fantasic Four wasn't A-list before Jessica Alba
X-men wasn't A-list before Huge Jackmen.

These characters before they made that leap were mostly just known to kids that watched cartoons and older comicbook readers. a niche audience, not a-list. Same with Ironman, and Cap. as soon as they made that leap to a big budget film, they were immediately on the same level.

I can't think of any comic character that was ever A-list before appearing in a major film.

The Coli Siskel and Eberts back at it.

MCU will be fine. This is the typical rebuild after a climactic event.

You also have to accept it’s a new day. An Infinity arc rehash isn’t the move.

I do agree though that referencing/anchoring too much into non-movies gonna lose people. Haven’t seen anything outside WandaVision. Lot of people I know that seen Endgame don’t even know shyt like Loki and “What If..” exists. :yeshrug::mjlol:

Nah, this is not true. That's like saying Superman wasn't A-list before Christopher Reeve, Batman wasn't A-list before Michael Keaton, Wonder Woman wasn't A-list before Gal Gadot.

Also, I did say BEFORE the MCU. All those movies/actors you mentioned were BEFORE the MCU, so you aren't saying anything against my point lol.

Spider-Man, X-Men, the Fantastic Four, the Incredible Hulk were popular characters in pop culture before the MCU. Almost everybody could recognize Spider-Man (even before the Sam Raimi/Tobey Maguire films).

Also, you have to remember that comic books in the 20th century (especially the 1940s to 1970s) were something that almost every kid read growing up. Not comparable to now.

What was the point of the Black Widow movie?
It was an origin story for Yelena.

edit: and after years of seeing this shyt play out, i see why they make origin stories, because if you just introduce a character, there's going to be a bunch of idiots crying about needing a prequel to explain blah blah blah. Same people shytting on Eternals, would have asked for that exact prequel to be made to explain the Eternals and the Celestials. LOL

Same with Shang-Chi. If he just showed up already established and doing shyt, people would have asked for a prequel to explain shyt. They knocked out a portion of the ground work for the next phase.

to the bolded, I clearly said i agreed with that point.

My point however, is everything else you are saying i disagree with.

I don't believe Superman was A-list before Christopher Reeve. at all.

Wonderwoman and Batman possibly you could make that argument for but thats only because of Adam West and Lynda Carter. and even then i'd say more B list.

TYRONE GA!
its already 2022 and no one has signed on for the next Spider-Man
Holland already tired of it and probably wants a break
Sony and Marvel haven't worked out anything yet and Sony believes they can do it without Marvel
No way you are seeing anything before 2024

While they can and have done it without being in the MCU, they won't completely break the relationship off either.

They honestly need to get the FF popping and establish Doom always in the cut.

Maybe a crazy idea but I think for the time being the MCU is gonna ride DD as their next leading Marvel character- I read that now that Cox is in the MCU- he will be EVERYWHERE....now, there is a chance fans will get DD fatigue but he is crazy popular and a very good actor. The casual crowd may not have the same investment in DD they did for Cap and Ironman but he is a good choice for now - and they still have Strange

The old formula was to do a trilogy, end, reboot. This is uncharted territory. #marvelset is strong, but they need to keep their foot on the gas and not get lazy.

They have more than doubled their output but there is a fear they might be taking their foot off the gas and becoming lazy. What?! :mindblown:

list the a-list projects he was in prior to then.
or are you saying selling some comics made him a-list? because he wasn't even the top seller in the 60's. if that is the case, we can literally measure by comicbook sales who all is a-list or not and put an end to this debate.
