The MCU might have a problem they don't know about yet.

i know that superman had a tv show in the 40s that the average person never heard of. Somehow that makes me think it wasn't very a-list that being the case.
also how is this a good argument? everybody knows who steven seagal is too, still doesn't make him a-list. do you have a valid point?

You do know that Superman essentially started the wave and imitations of a lot of superheroes that you see today especially MCU characters right? He's a A-List legacy superhero and always has been hence the colors.

Yes, he was the first widely popular superhero among comicbook fans. a niche audience, that is still niche today. at what point did he become a-list?
You saying he was a-list back in 1938? :comeon:

He was the best selling superhero in comics until the 1980's, so the answer is yes. You can look up the history and see how massive the Superman character was when he was first released.

I don't believe Superman was A-list before Christopher Reeve. at all.

Wonderwoman and Batman possibly you could make that argument for but thats only because of Adam West and Lynda Carter. and even then i'd say more B list.
Nah man, you're bugging lol :russ:

the comics alone doesn't make you a-list.
Beano is a-list by this logic since that comic series came out in the same year as superman and has sold twice as much.

1. That's a British comic and just because you haven't heard of it in the US doesn't mean that it's not a-list elsewhere. Look up the history of The Beano and you'll see how massive it is.

2. We are talking about superheroes, so stick to the subject.

Fine
Point stil the same. I've been saying the whole time, that comic book sales alone doesn't make you a-list.
We even agreed spider man became a-list after the tobey maguire movies. Yet spiderman the character had been dominant in comic sales since the 60's. Selling more than superman in several years.
and yet it took over 30 years for a studio to be willing to invest in a major film. They were selling the rights for pennies to to studios to make shytty tv shows.

There is a reason this dude wasn't invited to be in no way home. He wasn't a-list yet. This was some c-list shyt at best. Despite 100s of millions of comics sold.

You're overlooking the merchandise side of things and how much revenue that characters like Spiderman and Superman were generating even before those films. Look at a lot of the older avengers merchandise and you'll see that the lineup was very different and would include Spiderman because of the attention that he would bring.

Just because those characters are bringing in even more revenue now before doesn't mean that they weren't A-List characters previously as the superhero genre wasn't bringing in the type of box office bread before Tobey's Spiderman which took it to a complete different level like we see today.

There's also the factor that you don't mention in Spiderman's colors and the part it played with the film succeeding with it coming out months after 9/11.

breh let me and @Thavoiceofthevoiceless talk this out. He is at least making good counter arguments. You don't seem to have any skill at debating.
Bro, comic books & comic strips were damn near ubiquitous (especially among kids) before the 1980s. Almost every kid (and many adults) read comics whether they were superhero ones or non-superhero (Archie, dikk Tracy, Peanuts, Garfield, etc).

They had it lined up for Captain Marvel, Spidey, and Black Panther to spearhead the next movement, but Captain Marvel wasn't as well-received as they hoped, they've mishandled Black Panther and the sped through the Spidey flicks

How did they mishandle Black Panther?
