The dr.s said they were only doing the experiments trying to reverse engineer a vaccine so they would have something to live for. So ellie was going to die so they could beat their heads into the wall hoping to get a different result. You gotta get those golden collectibles, friends. Sad these gamers dont go back and really get the full experience.
