How are using the data? Factoring cals burned and using that as your deficit as opposed to purely cals?
Big picture I would be more concerned about the person using a machine or non-heart rate monitors to chase a total.
If you are really dialing it in, more power to you.
the equations are pretty simple. There's your basal metabolic rate (bmr) which is a scientific equation that let's you know based your age weight, weight, how many calories you burn daily just existing. If you factor in activity levels, then workouts, and caloric intake you can get it down to a science.
I got some solid gains and shyt before I ever used science or tracked anything. Back in high school use using a sheet of paper that said bench Monday 155 x 3, 155 x 3, 165 x 2.
It wasn't until I got data that I understood how I needed to work out and what I really needed to do.
Even today there are times when I feel like I'm busting my ass and I'm looking at raw data and it's like
gonna have to do better than that. Then there's days when I'm just on and the data is like
.
Most people's cars have digital gauges now. My best analogy at the moment is like the dash in your car. It's telling you how many mph you're driving, you know how many gallons of fuel you have in your car, you can see how many miles you're traveling based on distance and with GPS you can see where you're going, how long it's going to take you etc. All of that is data you can use to decide how you're going to drive and what you need to do to make time or waste time etc.
