okay, so i re-watched this-

imo, gone girl is not really about craziness per se
i see the wife as someone who was compulsively shaped by her parents
and since she can't control her own life- she sets out to control others
with the husband, he is someone (at first) amenable to being changed/fixed up
but then grows to resent it, throwing her plans to shape him off-track

when she sets her plan in motion
to save himself, he has to submit to re-shaping by proxy
meanwhile the wife loses control- with the campers, then gets trapped at the lakehouse
at the end, husband and wife ultimately decide it is best to resume their dynamic

i see men and women who want to shape others
it is a recurring pattern
before courtney love was with kurt cobain
she was with a similar man named rozz rezabek
supposedly rezabek had to run for his life to get away

people who want to "fix up" others are very manipulative
they naturally target people they can shape
so i didn't really see this as a condemnation of marriage
or how anyone's spouse can go crazy
i think it reveals the inner workings of people who want to "fix up" others
if they win, they get bored
if they lose, they get even

I agree, which is why it was satirical vs a straight-up "crazy woman."

I loved the movie despite its flaws. The end had me like:skip: tho. But overall a really great flick

I just watched this movie this weekend.
This movie was great. Really crazy. Not what I expected.

Side note, Emily Ratajkowski plays the role of Andie Fitzgerald, a college student who is the mistress.of Ben Affleck's character Nick Dunne. There's one scene worth watching.

The only part/plothole I hated was the fact that its damn near impossible to fake your death the way she did in the movie. Forensics have teams just for the topic alone. Besides that it was deliciously decadent. Loved the giant slap to the faces of females out there with the "cool girl" scene, got bytches wondering why they're shaving the sides of their heads. :pachaha:

@MartyMcFly

Thoughts on the movie not being as good once the twist was revealed :patrice:

After a couple rewatches. I gotta say the first hour may have been the strongest of the movie. :ehh:
