That's a story reason to not connect them. I guess I'm asking, for a company that is behind Marvel in terms of building their universe....why throw out established characters and fan bases? What was the logic behind it?

Fred.

I look at DC like this: they have rebooted half a dozen times. There are like six versions of each character in different universes. Then you have stuff like Dark Knight Returns (the 80's comic) and All Star Superman that are basically "What If"s and not connected.

For the past few months they have literally had two versions of Batman and Superman in the main continuity. In "Batman" Jim Gordon was in a robot suit playing Batman cause Bruce had amnesia. In "Justice League" Batman was a New God going in space and shyt. Super lost his powers in his own books but was fine in JL. In the same month.

Look at how many movies DCCU could be deep by now. In the same timeframe as MCU there have been 3 Batman 2 Superman and 1 GL. If you add in Superman 1-4 and 90s Batman 1-4 you would be WAAAYYY deep into a shared universe.

Smallville. 10 seasons that were well liked. Scrap it. Start over.

DC has a huge problem with continuity. They don't seem to think it matters that much.

I already knew they would use different actors for TV and movies. That's what MCU is doing soooo right. If they use DD in a movie they will probably use the same actor. Look at Agents of Shield. The series actually follows the movies and reacts to the events of the movies.

Movies and tv shows
Oh yeah he is the only Flash I am giving a chance I don't watch the TV show. I don't care about his preferences if he does a good job I'm on board. I was questioning because I'm just unfamiliar with his work. You would think they would replace a well received TV actor with someone well known. I think there movie lineup can use it. Besides (Ukrainian) Ben Affleck DC got little star power in their superhero line up.
U don't know his work? Watch We need to Talk about Kevin (thanks the thread from the film room) on Netflix when you have time. I've seen him in Perks of Being a Wallflower too. It's another movie I enjoyed him in but those two are the ones on the top of my head now. Like I said, if anyone I'm glad they chose someone who can act & not just be some pretty boy in tights (no homo since I'm talking to a guy).

We have been served some shytty DC movies because the actor didn't mesh with the role good enough to pull off the role to the audiences approval. And when it comes to comic movies they are being critiqued like ten times harder. Idk what they DC don't get about that.

No, because the tv show already showed and made value of the tv show flash as the true flash.
So, when you spin it to the movies and the fan reaction shyts on, thr movie flash being phoney in any particular way. It ruins the draw to the movie with the first confusing part when kids can not comprehend what is going om.
Then, if the movie lacks plus the tv show for whatever reason is perceived as better.
You can forget about the property all together.
Just like halle berry as catwoman.
Route as supes and now affleck as batman.
The miscast ruins the movie, in one fell swoop.
Look at spiderman and fantastic four on fox.
shyt Is TO CONFUSING AND Ruins THE draw FOR THE PROPERty.

Lets just agree to disagree. Like I said The Flash already touched on the different universes so its no need to include the TV version characters on the big screen IMO. I'm cool with it.

Because their TV universes and movie universes are seperate no?:yeshrug:

Honestly its probably for the better too, we talk about how great Marvel TV is but honestly Agents of SHIELD has kinda been screwed by sharing a movie universe (Like the whole Hail Hydra fiasco and Shield getting exposed may have fukked up with their plans and as great as Daredevil and Jessica Jones was they had such a stark contrast to the movie universe I'm not even sure how Matt can show up in a post Phase 3 set of movies like was first discussed :patrice:)

Better to have them seperate and if you desperate want, you can do the bullshyt Flash time and universe travel shoehorn plot explination 10 years from now if you want to have them share screentime.

Carve your own lane and do for self. I think the average movie goer doesn't really care about shared universe between TV and movies. I feel it's a topic enthusiasts talk about that holds no weight to the average person. Plus the CW shows are already rolling, no need to fukk that up and the animated crossovers. :manny:

I'm lukewarm on the shared universe so far because it always boils down to "Stark just told us to be ready in five" or "Nothing has been the same the attack on New York" said in fifty different ways. I honestly think a lot of these shows are tied down by being connected. When the Kingpin was going :demonic: with the car door I was in, I didn't give a fukk about nothing Avengers related after that. :mjlol:

Two movies? Was he even the lead in either? That's still newcomer status, glad he is supposed to be a good actor I just think someone the general audience is more familiar with and can act might have been better commercially.

It's because licenses, I been playing this game called DC Universe online for a few years now and it's amazing how limited the game is with things because they simply not allowed to use it it took them 3 years for the players to have the clothing option to use the green lantern symbol the refuse to add it when the movie was released. Grant and Amel have made great Flash and Green arrows but licenses will never allow them to hit the big screen as their tv personalities I would fully support Tom Weiling as superman instead of the stiff ass no personality dude playing superman now dude is the worst superman period dude acts like he wasn't raised on earth. But I could only picture the amount of money a actor would demand or be valued as if he's asked to be on the big screen and on a tv daily.

The lead in We Need To Talk About Kevin, not quite lead in Wallflowers but a vital character.

The other movie I couldn't think of was called Beware of the Gonzo co starting Zoe Kravitz & Jesse McCarthy. In the three movies he's played different character types so well.

They're off-handidly connected.... it's one of the different 52 Earths.
^^^This is the best reason. It's a reason Marvel could also go with if it wanted because both Marvel and DC have several different Earths, which begs the question, with that kind of fukked up continuity, why would you even take them seriously? Why would you take their stories seriously when they reboot them over and over again, retcon shyt, change character storylines, powers and backgrounds just because a different writer has other ideas or cause they wanna write something that will outdo the competition, etc. There is NO consistency. Stop ya bloodclot whining. If you nikkas want consistency, your best bet is to stick with comic and manga franchises that stay consistent. That's why I switched from Comics to Manga cause they don't reboot and destroy the storylines you become well invested in. fukk trying to have to remember shyt all over again.

Marvel and DC characters have similar powersets, so there's a cold war-esque rush to get them out there into public consciousness, before the idiotic general public accuses whoever's second place of copying the first. Hawkeye in avengers(FILM), so Green arrow(TV) gets kickstarted. Quicksilver coming up in Avengers: Age of ultron(FILM), so Flash(TV). It's guerrilla war tactics in terms of intelllectual property. Now when flash shows up in justice league, he'll be compared to flash, instead of being compared to quicksilver. If namor shows up in a marvel film in the future, movie goers will say Marvel is ripping off aquaman...

Not a fan of singular characters running around with different actors at the same time at all, just dilutes the brand and creates a mess :scust:

The CW shows were made and in development before they were committed on doing the movies with the other characters. If the shows were made after and not before the movies like The Marvel shows were they would have held off using certain characters on TV and outlined which characters can and can't be used and you wouldn't have this problem.

I remember reading that The Suicide Squad had to be removed from Arrow because of the movie and couldn't implement Harley Quinn into the series.

Flash TV will be in season 4

You know Sam Jackson has been on AoS atleast 3 times right? Maria Hill and Lady Sith (Thor) had major plot lines on AoS also...

Nick-fury-agents-of-shield-finale-season-1.jpg

It was the AoS who found out where the Loki's staff was in Ultron. The AoS episode before Ultron came out lead right into the first scene in Ultron...

Damn i didnt know that!! I always felt like something was missing and why was these nikkas randomly in the woods of a foreign country
