Believe me that fact doesn't escape me, the incarceration rates are in the millions under his watch. I just felt the need to point out the trends post Civil Rights. War on Crime, War on Drugs, War on Terrorism, the militarization of police, a booming prison sector, a lot of that imo was the rethug's response to social movements like the Panthers.

But yeah, mothafukk Bill Clinton. :pacspit:

Plenty of blacks in boxing now, just look at the lower weights. As the decades go by the US gets more p*ssy, unfortunately, so combat sports get less popular.

It's clear as day. The current "gun play" we live in was birthed in the crack era.

the hand skills niqqas used to lean on to resolve fights were honed on the streets of Detroit, New York, Philly and elsewhere. Niqqas don't even fight anymore....that's why we're not seeing cats come up with styles of their own and bringing it to the world stage. Cats aren't coming up like that anymore.

I grew up around the 52 and saw Mike Tyson use it in the ring. Bernard called it the Jailhouse Rock. American boxing is in the toilet because niqqas don't use their hands anymore.

:yeshrug:

Great point, but yo, the 52 is actually real. I'm a southern nikka and I always thought NY nikkas was just exaggerating about this

If "gun play" is the reason for the decline in American interest then how would you explain Mexico's consistency in the sport? They have been dealing with an extremely violent drug war down there where bodies are being dumped on the streets daily yet they still keep pushing out solid boxing prospects...

Beside that how do you explain the rise of all these MMA gyms in the states? There is an MMA gym seemingly on every other corner where i live in Queens which clearly demonstrates a heavy interest in combat sports...

The issue is obviously boxing and how its perceived in the states today, specifically the business side of the sport which is ridiculously corrupt...Nobody is interested in what it takes to be a boxing champion anymore because its simply not worth the blood, sweat and tears...Why put in all that work to get paid peanuts and never get a shot due to shady business? nikkas simply just don't want to put up with all that bullshyt when they can get paid much more playing basketball and football...

I think some of it is that. But also consider boxing doesn't recieve much attention nowadays except for a handful of fighters. Kids don't see them living that glamour life outside of pretty much just Floyd. But you got Nike going hard for other athletes.

Then throw in that youngsters get pushed more in Basketball and Football because their parents know it's a way for them to get into college. Even if you're a scrub it still increases your chances significantly getting into a University, which is one of the primary goals a parent has. If they're anything special, that's just a bonus. At the end of the day though, most parents habe the final say in what they want for their kids. Even Floyd said he didn't want to box as much, but his father forced him.

There are no programs for boxing in school that will earn you a ton of college brownie points, hence parents may stay clear of that because why let your kid take hits for nothing.

Maybe putting amateur boxing through the college system like they do all the other sports would do it.:yeshrug:

There are still good boxers out there worldwide..Just no more good Heavy Weight Boxers....Heavy Weight dominated for decades, and with the decline of this and the rise of MMA/Ultimate Fighting, boxing has been a dying sport....

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
I used to slap box friends on the way home from school, 9 times outta 10 it would turn into a real fight. My father saw me slap boxing and got me 2 pairs of real gloves and showed me how to work a bag and some basic combos & footwork, I in turn took what I knew and handed out the other pair of gloves to friends and show them what my father showed me, and then we'd box. I was in 5th grade, I stopped around 8th grade.

Mexicans have plenty guns, it's not stopping them.
Yup, let's compare something that has risen the last 10 years to something that happened nearly 30 years ago for a longer period and we are seeing the effects today.

I wouldn't be surprised if an athletics drop in football and boxing happens in Mexico 10-15 years from now.

In saying that, guns are not the only reason for the fall of the American boxer.

Exactly.

When I think back, culturally dudes were all about being nice with their hands. Being nice with your 'smitties' was what carried a niqqas rep. shyt...niqqas kept count on how many niqqas they webbed (leaving your hand print on a niqqas grill) while slapboxing. I saw cats graduate that into the ring. But that shyt died when niqqas said fukk a fair one....im clapping.

you can blame the american education system.

from eliminating extra curricular programs which included boxing.
