Yup, let's compare something that has risen the last 10 years to something that happened nearly 30 years ago for a longer period and we are seeing the effects today.

I wouldn't be surprised if an athletics drop in football and boxing happens in Mexico 10-15 years from now.

In saying that, guns are not the only reason for the fall of the American boxer.

Blah blah blah. I got you.

There will never be a drought in boxing in Mexico. I also find it funny that the OP is equating fighting in the street to the sweet science.

:snoop:

you realize they were saying this about American boxers in 1992, right?

slap boxing =/= fighting

The US has a lot more going on in terms of the options one has in the field of sports. If you're a Mexican athlete and you want glory, it's either Soccer, Boxing or being a hitman for Los Zetas.

I saw it graduate to the boxing ring.

Most forms of fighting from anywhere start from the street or amongst the locals. You think fighting forms like Capoeira and others came out of some school like some forms of martial arts?

lol, yall brought up somethin tho. I graduated in 2004 and there was no such thing as bullying campaigns, now you got that shyt everywhere. Who's to say this crop ain't just soft and more sheltered than the eras prior to internet access and social media?

Plus how many potential fighters are locked up in prison now? IIRC there are about 20+ million African American men in prison right now.

What?

Didn't read the thread but I'm pretty sure it's already been said basketball and football are the reason nikkas are not boxing not crack

Just look at how much the popularity and pay has increased over the last 20 years and it's easy to see why nikkas ain't boxing no more

You can be average and make millions per year in those 2 sports.can you say the same for a average boxer?

Great athletes weren't always the ones leaning towards boxing.

Dudes who could scrap were the ones mostly pulled into it.

Ok I just went back and read the OP and you at 100% wrong on this

Are you really trying to say people fought more back in the late 80s/early 90s then now?

They did in the early 80's.

I saw many thugged out dudes nice with their hands being pulled into PAL or the Golden Gloves. But dude stopped fighting. No one was using their hands anymore.
