Abrams said the Cloverfield monster came from deep in the ocean. It had been in hibernation for at least 1000 years and it was a baby in the first movie.

With that being said, I guess this movie is trying to say that what they did in space woke it up and not that

the monster was teleported. Abrams also said the baby was killed at the end of the first movie so the bigger monster at the end was a different one. The ending also confirmed that it was more than one monster so obviously they came back to earth after the end of the first Cloverfield

Even if this was shoehorned into a completely different movie, there aren't many potholes if any.

The reactions that some of you are having are probably why they decided to test this type of release. The worst part of the movie was the musical score.

All the logic stuff for the Cloverfield rules and all that lines up. That's not my issue with it. My issue with it is it has no life and is just boring. The sci-fi stuff isn't interesting, the horror stuff isn't really horrific, and I have no idea who any of these people are outside of Hamilton nor do I care about anyone outside of Hamilton. It still has to function and work as a story and it feels half baked. Like there are good ideas there but not enough done to make them really dope or flesh them out. It just sits there. The last shot is cool because yeah, it says that these things are in different dimensions and the whole shyt is fukked now because of a bad decision in space, but having good logic doesn't mean its a good movie

I will concede, the actors had little to work with.... but I thought they did a good job :manny:

The pacing was off. It was hard to get attached to the characters other than the lead.

And those aren't minor issues. When they have little to work with, that means there's a script and story issue. When you can't get attached to any character but one in an ensemble of like 5 or 6 heads, that's another issue. There's a good movie there but it just feels so slapdash and rushed. Should've been longer to to have more room to breathe

Just finished :wow:

this shyt is highkey trash:mjgrin:

No explanation on anything crazy shyt just happens and the explanation is they're in an alternate dimension:yeshrug:

and who was ol girl husband even talking too and what was the point with the little cac girl :heh:

hot garbage Netflix take this L and do better next time
breh you can't tell me they didnt add all that shyt in after the fact because none of it made sense. Breh was randomly in a doomsday bunker after randomly finding a kid for no reason.. talking to some nameless guy about his girl. And that exposition dump at the gas station at the start of the movie felt so forced it was I laughed my ass for like 2 straight minutes and let's not talk about the random noises and things on the ship that went unexplained. shyt was normal sci fi that seemed like event horizon for a second then it turned into Donnie Darko

How did the hand know to cut open that guy?
literally the explanation was alternate universe. I kid you not.

why did the ship attack and eat mundy? How did the villian show up in another universe but everybody else didn't? Who opened the door for the guy after they contained him after reading something (btw they never show what the black guy was reading then they cut to him confronting the guy) that showed he was "untrustworthy" why was that dropped immediately? Mind you the woman was still locked up on the deck.... WTF was up with volkov face? Twice they showed his face wigging out then he goes crazy then has worms come out his body and a piece of the ship in his stomach...why? How did mundy's arm know to slice volkov open? Why did any of that happen? These are plotholes Saying alternate universe doesnt explain it.
